Congratulations Amber and Mulan! We are so proud to have these phenomenal students on our ResLife team and of all that they have accomplished during their time at Alfred University!
The Center for Student Involvement announced a Hot Dog Day T-shirt contest to raise funds for the local charities that usually benefit from Hot Dog Day! The winner received a gift card for Amazon! You can submit your designs on AU Connect under the form "Hot of Day T-Shirt Desing!" Maybe a Tiger King or Stanger Things themed? Show us what you've got creative friends! The deadline is April 15th.
Let's do our part to keep not only ourselves but our community safe! Cases in the area have been on the rise in the past week. Limit your trips to the grocery store, don't visit friends in person, go for a walk but keep your distance from people, wash your hands, and don't touch your face. #saxonstrong #stopthespread #flattenthecurve
Though we may not participate in April Fool's Day this year, we hope you have some fun with those you're isolating with! Miss you all
Updated Housing Timeline! We put a freeze on housing application for Fall 2020 as we responded to the University's COVID-19 procedures. We plan to unfreeze the housing application next Monday! Week of April 6th: Joel's House, Unity Floor, and Sophomore experience applications are open.... Week of April 13th: remaining corridor applications open.
Friends, we understand your struggles when it comes to online classrooms and missing your friends! We’ve been going a little crazy without you here! Hope all is well from the Student Affairs team #saxonstrong #reslifebestlife
The Office of Residence Life would like to take a moment that thank the following people for their assistance: All of our undergraduate and graduate staff members who, despite being away from campus, have been calling into Zoom meetings to stay updated and informed! Also, our past and future student staff members for reaching out and offering assistance! Kassie, Mariah, Gayle, Tricia, John, Beth Ann and Erin for all their help in the office! We couldn’t have answered phones..., prepared buildings or strategized next steps without you! The Bookstore for sending us a care package of goodies! It was completely unexpected but the sugar rush couldn’t have come at a better time! Our alumni and parents who have been calling with offers to help students pack and move belongings home! Some parents even dropped of snacks! We never anticipated an outreach like this and our students are truly grateful for your willingness to help! And finally our wonderful student body for sending us funny emails to keep our spirits high! Thank you for your cooperation and patience with the last-minute move out! We hope everyone is home and safe.
The Office of Residence Life will be open this weekend from 10am-2pm by phone call only! If you get locked out or have questions regarding move out, please give us a call at 607-871-2186!
The Division of Student Affairs will collect any unopened or single serve, packaged food items students wish to leave and distribute them to our AU Food Pantry. . We ask that students donating food do so in an orderly manner while adhering to social distancing measures (keeping 6 feet or more between individuals). Food can be dropped off at the bike hub (across from the mailroom) or the lobby outside the bookstore up until the 5 p.m. Sunday, March 22, deadline for departing campus. For more information, including guidelines for donating food items, please visit the Food Pantry web page. . Thank you for your generosity. It is refreshing to know our students are thinking of others during these trying times! #saxonstrong
Even though we are moving online, we are here for you! Students, parents, guardians and fellow colleagues: please don’t forget to take care of yourself and check-in with those around you. #saxonstrong @ Alfred University
