Avenues upper grades students welcomed best-selling author, David Wallace-Wells to discuss his book and summer reading pick, The Uninhabitable Earth, which explores what climate change, left unchecked, could do to our future planet. Our students were able to ask thoughtful questions and left with a renewed sense of purpose to affect meaningful change for our planet and their future. We partnered with Elliott-Chelsea Houses to host our fall Book Fair. Our Avenues community collected books, masks, hand sanitizer, candy, and backpacks for donation. Our Lower Division Aviators signed their language pledges earlier this week! From nursery5th grade, students alternate days learning in English and either Spanish or Mandarin.
