If you’re looking for something light and fizzy to balance out these fraught and weighty days you could do a lot worse than Life, Death and Cellos by Isabel Rogers. This very British novel is a total hoot that tracks the doings of the Stockwell Park Orchestra, a plucky community orchestra in a dodgy part of London. And it helps that Rogers is a cellist although a musician of any stripe will enjoy every bit of this romp. (LDC is the first volume in the Stockwell Park Orchestra series.)
Oh to be in the room where it happens.
