I mentioned that I am learning about watercolor and aqueous acrylic pouring with Laurie Goldstein-Warren (https://m.facebook.com/laurie.goldsteinwarren?tsid=0.23849595895080422&source=result) in her current online course. This is my first creation from one of my photos. It is an small study in watercolor pouring. A larger version poured in acrylics is is the works, as are class projects, and studies for the Farm series. This is a great way for me to spend my isolation!!! Hope you are all well, keep in touch.

Hi folks, I am taking a watercolor pouring class with Laurie Goldstein-Warren. I have been working on finding some photos for later in the class. I was inspired by Kathy, a member of our class, to look at some photos from my hubby's family farm in Iowa. When Laurie mentioned that she usually does a series of paintings, it sparked an idea to paint a series of paintings 'The Draegert Family Heritage Farm Series'. So I have picked out some photos....did some photo editing & I am looking for my favs. I am going to attach a couple from the upcoming series for you to see. I am thinking that the cart will be the first in the series.

Just a shout out to everyone during this unprecedented time in our recent history. We have put our Tuesday get-togethers on hold until after Easter. Please stay in touch safely via phone and social media with all of your painting buddies. Share ides, projects and encourage each other during this difficult time. I want to wish you all the best on this first day of spring! I recently completed a painting of a spring bunny on a plaque that I made years ago. It was something that I kept looking for the right subject for....I would start something and then remove it because it never felt right. This time, it just felt right!

Last night’s opening of ‘The Flower Show’ at the Broome County Arts Council Gallery was super. Stop in during March to see beautiful arrangements and flower-themed creations by Broome County residents. Spring is peeking through in Binghamton!
