@tandafrancis does extraordinary works large and small, I got to see the Shirley Chisholm clay bust when Tanda was pregnant. It was beautiful and the first time I’ve seen S.Chisholm anything without her glasses! It was a masterpiece. The Warmth and integrity of this historic figure came through the humanity and individuality was well worked by Tanda hands through the clay. Congratulations Tanda your work is outstanding. . Posted @withregram @tandafrancis In this last minut...es of Black History month, I’m reflecting on a couple of moments which pins the work I do within the frame of our history which I really feel should never be confined to a month. Black history is world history somehow segregated. I love that we can take the time to celebrate our history but can’t help but to see that it’s lack of incorporation into general history is problematic. Take my Adorn Me Installation (formerly located in Forte Green Park). It’s now installed st Exchange Place - by the waterfront of Jersey City. I was being interviewed for a digital guided tour on a sculpture walk and I was informed but the interviewer (a local) that Adorn Me’s new home was a historic site - a very important Underground Railroad hub. A last stop point leading to the freedoms of brave men women and children escaping slavery to freedom. Adorn Me’s placement on exchange place became not only a monument to the the runner’s crossroads. But a testament to a country who’s ground is so swollen with the hidden roots of it’s own history that it does not take much to trip over a good chunk of it unexpectedly. If we don’t know out shared history then we will continue to have a problem seeing the realities of who we are as a country today. Today we are definitely trippin . The first picture was taken a earlier in the month just before I sent off a Bust I had just completed of Shirley Chisholm to be installed in front her former Elementary School stay tuned . The last pic New Site confirmed! Another riverside site for my goddesses . Quensbourogh Bridge Park Where I will be installing my Depth of Shadow project this summer. This one is For The Plywood Project @plywoodproject Stay tuned / follow a See more

Bravo!!! Posted @withregram @billieholidaytheatre At a time when the nation needs to hear our stories more than ever, we are thrilled to announce #TheBlackSeed initiative recipients! The Black Seed, a national strategic initiative focused on creating impact and thrivability for Black theater institutions, is providing close to 100 Black theaters across the country with one- or two-year grants ranging from $10,000 to $150,000. This is the first iteration in a long-term str...ategy for the company. We are excited to be able to give back during this unprecedented time in history, continuing to help build the new American theater. We will always tell your stories! #theblackseed #blacktheater #blackartmatters Check out the full article in American Theatre Magazine link in bio.
