Join Jackie Sunday for a workshop dissecting the movements that make up surya namaskara (sun salutations), highlighting the elusive transitions from chaturanga dandasana (four-limbed staff pose) to urdhva mukha svanasana (upward facing dog) or bhujangasana (cobra), into adho mukha svanasana (downward facing dog). Since we move from one position to the next succinctly on an inhale or an exhale, these motions can often go overlooked and pain or discomfort can ensue when things are not in the right place. In this 2 hour virtual workshop, we will break it all down and you will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout.

Learn the basic fundamentals of yoga postures and breathing techniques. This is a great way to start a yoga practice without the intimidation of a group class or for students who want to brush up on the basics. The focus will be on proper alignment of basic yoga poses, using breathing techniques and other tools of yoga. We will also explore yogic philosophy in order to understand the practice holistically and appreciate its meditative qualities. Thursdays 1/7, 1/14, 1/28, 1/21
