This renovation project updates an existing New York 1920s apartment with a modern sensibility.

The Box1 furniture series fuses simple geometries and elegant proportions with purely rendered materials to meet the most basic requirements in a simple statement. Each piece features straight grain, solid hardwood construction with an oil-varnish finish. Table pieces feature matte-finish stainless steel frames and legs. This project successfully reclaims a beautiful Tribeca loft space from the dysfunctional layout and dated decor of previous renovations. The project’s main goal was to establish a stronger division between the public and private areas of the apartment by switching the locations of the kitchen and bedroom. By moving the master bedroom adjacent to the existing bathroom and adding a new powder room off the kitchen, the new layout allows for a much stronger delineation between private and public functions.

The renovation of this 1950s Long Island bungalow includes the addition of a new second-floor master bedroom suite and the re-organization of the ground floor plan to connect the enlarged kitchen area with the living room to create a unified entertainment space.

Low cost renovation of a classic pre-war apartment in Brooklyn, New York. The original floor plan of this one bedroom pre-war unit was simple and efficient, but the space suffered from over 90 years of neglect and poor maintenance.
