Bar-20 Cowboy Action Shooting Club at Eatonbrook Rod & Gun Club

Hello Everyone, Bar-20 Action Shooters would like to remind people of the IDPA shoot on Saturday Oct. 24th. This is at the Eatonbrook Rod and Gun Club, West Wilcox Road, West Eaton NY. Right now the weather is looking at around high 50's low 60's degrees no rain(maybe) so come out and join us. There will be 4 stages set up (around 70 rounds). We have found this to be best suited to the room we would love to do more. Set up is Saturday morning Oct 24th starting be...tween 8:30 AM & 9:00 AM, Shooting starts at 10 with a safety meeting approx 10 min before 10. We encourage people to get there early and help set up.(any new shooters should get there a little early and we can go over IDPA procedures) Also would like to remind shooters this is a cold range, this means your gun may only be handled in the designated safe area and at your own vehicle and must remain unloaded at all times. Registration is $10.00 and will be at a table at the berm. We will not be doing any lunch so bring your own snack and/or WATER,soda. No alcohol of course. See more

Just in over at the telegraph office: Howdy all. Please come come out to the Oxford gun club on Sunday to enjoy our last match of this short shooting season. The kitchen will be open for breakfast starting at 8 AM and we will be serving lunch while the scores are being tabulated. The cost to shoot is still only $10 for non members, Sign up is from 8 - 9:30 AM, safety meeting at 9:45 AM and we start shooting at 10 AM. So come out and join us for the last match and enjoy the food and friendship of other shooters. We will be shooting rain or shine. Hope to see you there. Doc & G K

Hi Pards, Our Turkey Dinner and Cowboy Shoot is cancelled for October. We stay on the safe side to help prevent any spreading of the virus at a dinner setting. A tradition that will be started again next year. I personally will miss that smell of turkey and gunpowder shared with wonderful friends. The comradery in the Cowboy shooting sports is very special. Because our kitchen is still closed we will try to have coffee and sandwiches available for the shooters. The weather looks great so come out and have some fun with yer friends. Hi Pards Our BAR20 Cowboy Action Shoot for Sat. Aug. 8 has been cancelled due to concerns for exposure to the virus. My concern is shooters not wearing masks as a group gathering. I personally do not want to expose myself and possibly bring it home to my wife Bea, my children and 8 Grand kids. Hopefully this will be ended with creation of a vaccination or " herd immunity " is reached. I very much miss not shooting but at 75 I don't feel its worth the exposure. S...o for now this old cowboy is shooting alone or well spaced out during low use range time. Keep the faith and hope to see you all again soon. I will keep sending monthly notices out for the rest of the season through October. The situation could change. I truly miss Cowboy Action Shooting, IDPA, Steel Challenge 22 cal., Trap and Long Rifle shooting at Eatonbrook Rod & Gun Club. As well as shooting with all my friends at other Cowboy Action Clubs. News from John R. of Eatonbrook Rod & Gun Club: There will be a fun rifle/pistol shoot on Sunday July 19th. This is going be at no charge this time( we will have a donation can out). We are going to put Steel targets out at 50,100,150, and 200 yds. Then we will let people to shoot what they want like maybe 5-10 rounds each. Then do it as many times as you want. This is not a competition (even thought there maybe some beer bets going on and bragging rights) more of a get out ...of the house thing. Also a chance to shoot of guns that people may bring. I plan on bringing several with me and I encourage others to do the same. You cowboy shooters have your pistol caliber rifles, many of you also have Sharps, High Walls, Rolling blocks etc. Many of you have other older guns that are in your gun safes and haven't been fired in years, remember your muzzle loaders. Hey we would even let a .22 shoot why not its for fun, (hint is your son or daughter old enough to shoot) We ask only a couple of things, First only bullets with soft points on the gongs. Cast is the best. Second NO full metal jackets or military surplus ammo on the gongs we will put out some paper targets for them. We will not be doing any lunch so bring your own snack and/or WATER, soda. No alcohol of course.
