Free Date Night At Home - On line Program by the author of The 5 Love Languages. Thursday, May 7 @ 8:00pm Short notice but here's the deal. I've got a free pass to "Date Night at Home" by Gary Chapman, author of 5 Love Languages. I use this concept quite a bit in my work with couples so wanted to use this opportunity to give some lucky couple a chance to attend on line for free. To win just share this to your page and leave a message here that you have done that. I'll pick a winner at random from everyone that shares and leaves a comment and instant message you the link you'll need to attend. The program is Thursday, May 7 @ 8:00pm https://webevents.5lovelanguages.com/

With the concerns of transmission of COVID-19 and after careful consideration I am now offering a virtual option for counseling sessions through https://doxy.me/patients. I have selected this platform because it is specifically designed for healthcare providers and offers secure, HIPPA compliant communication. I may be moving all clients to this platform in the next few days, but currently it is optional. I do ask that if you have any concerns about your own health that y...ou review this information from the Centers For Disease control and err on the side of extreme caution. https://www.cdc.gov//2019-n/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html You can use your home computer if you have a camera and microphone or download an app for your phone. Please let me know if you want to use this option and I will email you the link for my "waiting room". Stay healthy and God Bless. Greg

I have to agree, based on my work with kids in the emergency department considering suicide smartphones and/or social media were usually some place in the mix. It is also important to note that many of the top executives in the tech giants don't allow their children to use the tools and platforms they sell to everyone else's kids. https://www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=WA19J41&f=WU19J13

Netflix is releasing season 3 and has season 4 of "13 Reasons" in production. If you are a subscriber to Netflix please join me in dropping your subscription. While working in the Emergency Department of a local hospital I heard a number of kids reference this show. These were kids that were contemplating suicide and some who had made attempts. Here's a good discussion of why it's such a problematic show. http://www.foxlevineandassociates.com//13-reasons-why-and-

Got this in my in box today. Thought it was worth sharing. When two people are talking at the same time, no one is listening. Consequently, there is no communication. For conversation to be meaningful, it requires talking and listening. How hard can that be? Yet 87% of those who divorce say their main problem was that they could not communicate. Listening begins with an attitude. If I choose to believe every person I encounter has inherent dignity and value, meaning their th...oughts and feelings are important, then I am prepared to listen. If I think the world revolves around me, that my ideas are all that counts, then why should I listen to anyone else? Many people don't have a communication problem; they have an attitude problem. Let's learn to value one another. In doing so, we will inadvertently make our conversations and experiences much more healthy and rich.
