After sanitizing and following all protocols we are ready to end our voluntary shutdown! Our staff has been tested and all staff members working are healthy, tested negative and ready to be back ... completely approved by the health department! Basil Leaf will reopen Tuesday 11/3 at 4pm!

Due to some very unfortunate positive Covid-19 cases... we have voluntarily closed for cleaning until Tuesday November 3. For the safety of our staff and guests, all of our employees will have tested negative before returning! Happy Halloween... stay healthy!

Basil Leaf hosted our first ever Covid-19 birthday party walk through today! Can not believe Ruth is 100!!!! She received a proclamation from the city of Syracuse and also from the Pope!!! We can’t serve dinners in large numbers anymore but we can serve them to go!!

Basil Leaf needs a company to come and pick up our bottles and cans weekly... does anyone know of a company that does this? Ours no longer does pick up...

Basil Leaf will be closed on Saturday 7/4 and Sunday 7/5 for Independence Day! We will reopen for lunch Tuesday! Enjoy your holiday weekend!

Some friendly reminders from us at Basil Leaf as we come into our first weekend of reopening... we LOVE having guests back but we still need to follow the rules. Please remember we did not create these rules but if we want to keep our liquor license we have to follow them! 1. Remember we are only given 50% of our seating. ... 2. Masks are REQUIRED. Unless you are SEATED in a chair... it must be on your face! 3. The barstools are seated by the hostess only! This maintains 6 feet of distance in between guests. 4. I am being strict on the rules to keep our business going! Remember that this business is what feeds our families and we need to stay open! Being together again is exciting and if we want to continue to do this we need to do it correctly!! See everyone soon!

Ready for this! Not only are we opening... BUT ... you can purchase any type of alcohol through us ...TO GO! Call us to order an amazing meal paired with a margarita... a whiskey and coke... a beer... bottle of wine... a white claw and many more!!! If you are not quite ready to join us at the restaurant... we can make your entire dining experience at home complete! ... See you tomorrow!!

In preparation for tomorrow’s opening a couple important reminders: -We can not serve you walking up to the bar... please go inside to the hostess to be sat in an available stool 6 feet from other guests to enjoy the bar! -We are seating at 50% so please be patient for an available table and please also be considerate for the guests waiting to sit after you! An hour and a half is perfect timing to enjoy and still be courteous. ... -Our waitstaff is working off of tips at the same hourly wage but at half capacity. Please remain patient and understanding! -And most importantly MASKS ARE REQUIRED! You may remove your mask once you are seated! We can’t wait to see everyone again!!

We are opening!! Tuesday the 16th! A couple of things to remember when we open our doors again (finally!!) - We are mandated to seat 50%. Please call in for reservations to guarantee a seat inside. Outside is first come first serve. Please also remember we need to be able to seat the same table numerous times... so although we miss all of you terribly... seats will be a hot commodity please be respectful of the people waiting to sit in that spot after you! -MASKS ARE MAND...ATORY. Even for customers. Once you are seated you may remove your mask. If you get up from your seat please put your mask back on! -Bar seats will be sat by the hostess 6 feet apart. Open space at the bar unfortunately is not available to stand in. Social distancing is key to be able to remain open! - PLEASE be patient. This is a whole new world for us as well... your understanding will make this easier for us to navigate. We are following the rules given to us by the state and although they are not all the easiest... we do have to follow them. We hope to see all of our favorite guests again soon! It may not be how it was ... but we will create our new normal together!

Rudy and I have been looking forward to a re-opening date since this entire shutdown started. We had previously posted June 12 as our expected date. The safety of our employees and customers is very important to us and following NYS guidelines is a must. The second we know of an approved date for reopening you will be the first to know! We are hoping and praying for the 16th but we MUST have full approval before we can confirm that date. Please stay safe and healthy and know that our time to be together at the restaurant again will come soon enough.

If all goes well and we get the green light from Cuomo... Basil Leaf is hoping to open Friday, June 12! Keep your fingers crossed we get some information soon and as soon as we know... you will know!! -Rudy and Mandye
