Tonight I am going to open up the Beacon Rising once a month choir rehearsal to anyone who needs to sing. Come back here to the Beacon Rising Choir page at 7:30pm if you would like to join us! Doors open at 10:30 AM, Meals are ser...ved at 11:00am Monday - Thursday for anyone who needs a hot meal. Meals are served at Tabernacle of Christ Church, 483 Main St, Beacon. Spotlight on the Beacon Prison Rides Project, one of the the non-profits our concert will benefit. Beacon Prison Rides Project is a group of volunteers that for...med out of the work of Beacon Prison Action. They seek to help people visiting their incarcerated loved ones at Beacon-area prisons by providing them with free rides from the train station. They also work to hold our elected officials responsible for upholding the human rights of prisoners and to educate our communities about human rights abuses and shameful racial disparities in our prison system. One important component of that work is helping people who are in prison maintain contact with their families, their communities, and the activist community across New York. Over the last two years, the project has served over 150 people and taken close to 800 trips. See more
