We enjoyed a nice Fall Day with our community at the PD today. The Child Passenger Safety event was a huge success! Twenty eight child seats were inspected/inst...alled and we had the pleasure of donating five car/booster seats. We had a lot of great interaction with the families, not all were pleased to be upgraded to their new seat, lol. Even the Chief was graciously invited to lend his artistic talent and draw with the kids. Our Cadets were on hand to show support and don our crash test dummy suits. The Prescription Drug Take Back event was also a huge success, we filled all three of our containers. We appreciate our residents taking the time to safely dispose of their prescription medications. We would like to thank Dutchess County Traffic Safety Coalition and Nuvance Health for hosting this event with us. The New York State Police, Village of Fishkill Police Dept., Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corps and our officers/technicians, Town of Fishkill Police Sgt. Farrell, Officer Hurtado, Officer Aluisio, Officer Maeang and Officer Cox. A big thank you to the Town of Fishkill PBA for providing lunch to all officers and technicians who worked the event and the Fishkill Recreation Department for use of their parking lot. We would also like to thank Dora Celestino from the The Council on Addiction Prevention and Education for organizing and hosting the event with us. Detective Betley for collection and securement of over fifty pounds of prescription medication and the DEA for handling disposal. Thank you to all of our residents who came, participated and supported our events today!
