We have been loving the packed powder conditions this past week and we should be seeing some additional terrain for Friday - the ropes are expected to fall on Algonquin, Esopus, and Lower Utsayantha. Please remember to mask up when you are in our lift corrals.

It is a beautiful snowy day at the Belle! We picked up 3" of light fluffy freshies today, adding extra sweetness to the packed powder conditions. Snowmaking continues on Algonquin and soon to be on Dot Nebel! Please remember lodge space is limited and we recommend being as ready to go out of your vehicle as possible.

Ski More, Sit Less! We are making as many laps as possible, enjoying the snowy conditions. Just a reminder indoor seating is limited and we encourage your to be ready as possible out of your vehicle.

Good morning skiers and riders! Sunday Funday is here at the Belle and we opened up a couple of trails with natural snow - the ropes are down on Cathedral Brook, Esopus, and Pepacton, bringing the trail count to 36. We are expecting some wind today which could affect lift operations throughout the day. Just a friendly reminder lodge space is limited and we encourage you to be ready as possible out of your vehicle and to take advantage of the boot-up tent outside of the Discovery Lodge. Seating time inside the lodges is limited to 30 minutes.

We are enjoying a snowy afternoon at the Belle! We have seen a dusting so far today with accumulations between 2 and 5 inches expected tonight.

What a way to welcome in 2021 with a beautiful sunrise this morning! Snowmakers are continuing their efforts on Onondaga, Horseshoe Pass, lower Roaring Brook, Area 15, and the Canyon. Just a reminder that masks are required at all times when at Belleayre except when you are actively skiing or when you are eating while seated. We got new terrain coming at us today with top to bottom on Belleayre Run and Mohawk! Please remember - No Mask, No Distance, No Service. Face coverings are required at all times except while actively skiing or when eating while seated. We also recommend being ready to go out of your car as possible (boot up and leave bags in cars) as lodge space and storage is very limited.

We have added to the trail count - the east side is now open with top to bottom skiing on Wanatuska & Onteora, plus the guns have also been started up in Area 15 and the Canyon. Whoot Whoot!!! When you are visiting us at Belleayre, please remember to mask up and to practice social distancing in lift lines.

Belleayre Mountain, an Olympic Reginal Development Authority (ORDA) managed facility, is seeking a full-time, year-round General Mechanic. General Mechanics perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the repair and maintenance of facility equipment. The ideal candidate will have an advanced skill level and supervisory experience so s/he may act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the department head. General responsibilities include focusing on safety in the performance... of skilled mechanical work in automotive repair, maintenance, and overhaul of gasoline and diesel-powered self-propelled and non-self-propelled equipment. This person may also perform routine maintenance/construction and will be expected to engage in other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Four years’ full-time experience under a skilled journeyman equivalent to that of an apprenticeship program or successful completion of technical courses in a trade or technical institute and a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a journeyman level General Mechanic. A valid NYS driver’s license is required. Snowcat maintenance experience preferred but not required. Wage: Dependent upon skills and experience. We are making it snow!!! Snowmakers have been cranking out the man made top to bottom on Wanatuska, Ridge Trail, lower Ashokan, Mohican, and Discovery Way. Tomorrow the ropes will be falling on trails and additional lifts will be spinning - anticipating 15 trails, 6 lifts, and a machine groomed loose granular surface. Belleayre Mountain an ORDA managed facility, located in Highmount NY is seeking an electrician. The successful candidate will be involved with electrical service; troubleshooting, repair, installation of electrical and systems and equipment including medium voltage distribution; low voltage controls; buildings; ski lifts; voice and data communications, using electrical power from milliamps to 15.8 kV. This person will report to the Electrical Department Supervisor and must be... familiar with the electrical code. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as this person will communicate with vendors on technical information for troubleshooting and repair. Must be able to read and interpret machinery documentation, including prints and schematics, acquiring parts. Qualifications: Minimum of four years’ practical experience and/or documented completion of technical courses and a valid driver’s license.

Over the next couple of days, we will be coming into prime leaf-peeping season! Take in the views and the colors at the summit of Belleayre this weekend with a ride on the Catskill Thunder Gondola. The gondola will be spinning Saturday and Sundays through October 11 from 10am to 5pm. If you are a season pass holder, you ride for free and you also get a bonus friend ticket too.
