The first workable prototype of the internet came in the late 1960s when Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) was created. ARPANET used packet switching to allow multiple computers to communicate on a single network. Throughout the 1970s technology continued to grow. Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), a communications model which set standards for how data could be transmitted between multiple networks was developed. In 1983 ARPANET adopted TCP/IP and from there modern internet began to assemble. In 1990 the World Wide Web was invented. This helped popularize the internet among the public and was a crucial step in developing the vast trove of information most of us use on a daily basis.

Belsito Communications had the pleasure of sponsoring a networking mixer for the first-ever Hudson Valley Tech Festival. The two-day festival, held on October 11 & 12, was launched as a way to convene local tech professionals, students and enthusiasts here in the Valley. HV Tech Fest featured a full-day conference with over 40 educational seminars and panel discussions covering various tracks - such as Civic Tech and Small Business Development - as well as a Hackathon where h...igh school students from around the region worked together on teams to use tech and other resources to conquer real challenges in their home communities. HV Tech Fest also showcased the local talent and business resources that towns and cities in the Hudson Valley have to offer to tech start-up's and growing firms looking for an area to scale up their businesses.
