Beta Theta Pi 10.04.2021

The award winning John and Nellie Wooden Institute is an excellent opportunity for initiated Betas around the country to develop their leadership skills. The program was first named and endowed by Carol and James A. Collins, UCLA '50, in honor of legendary UCLA men's basketball coach John R. Wooden, and his wife Nellie. On Saturday, our fearless leader, Will Scatchard '17 and his VP sidekick Taran Auslander '17 joined our Leadership Consultant, Charlie Ruff at Beta's origin in Oxford, Ohio to participate in the leadership program. There, they connected with Betas from all over the country to take part in team building exercises, valued discussions, and community service ultimately gaining a better understanding of our Founding Father's vision. Great job representing Beta Zeta, brothers!

All non-Greek males currently enrolled at St. Lawrence are encouraged to apply for our annual Men of Principle Scholarship, which awards a deserving student $500. Applications can be picked up at the info desk on the second floor of the student center and are due back there by THIS Friday at noon. We look forward to reviewing your applications!

For over ten years Beta Zeta has been doing volunteer work for Bittersweet Farm. Today, a few of our brothers traveled to Gouverneur, New York where they helped take down two greenhouses. Moving forward, we look to keep this relationship going with Bittersweet for many more years to come.

Last weekend, six of our brothers traveled down to Cherry Hill, New Jersey to participate in the Beta Keystone Leadership Conference, which focuses on the development and leadership of chapter officers. For two days, they had the opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions and attend presentations while meeting representatives from several other Beta chapters in the Northeast. Nice work brothers!
