This is why this town loved Darryl.

Our hearts are heavy and we are in shock with the news of the passing of Bethel Constable Darryl Yates. Darryl was dedicated to his entire community giving of his own time and heart. Darryl often stopped at the ambulance bay when we were there to see if he could help or just to hang out and joke. Darryl was a central part of the Town of Bethel and will be missed by many. This community will never be the same without Darryl.Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of Darryls family and friends.

Please put off burning outdoors if possible!!

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Honorary Chief, Sullivan County Deputy Fire Coordinator James Minarsky (BC-3). Jim was a big part of the Sullivan County Bureau of Fire served as Deputy Fire Coordinator from August 1980 to December 2006, Jim was also member of the Fallsburg Fire Department for some time, and a 40 + year member of the Grahamsville Fire Department where he served as Chief from 1974 to 1976. There are no Funeral arrangements at this time, as information becomes available I will pass it along to everyone. Please keep the Minarsky family and his Fire Service Family in your thoughts and prayers he will be missed. Thank you

To All, As discussed at our Zoom Town Board meeting this past Wednesday, the Board and I have decided we had to postpone the Kauneonga Lake fireworks that were... scheduled for Friday, July 3rd this year. We see no way to physically control the amount of people who attend, which is a State requirement at this time. My view has been the point of the fireworks is to bring people to the Town and show it off, to load up the restaurants and bars and shops, and to celebrate the holiday with as many people as possible.. By July 3rd we may not be even out of the State metrics for the businesses to be open. The Kauneonga Lake fireworks are postponed till August , not cancelled. Thanks, Daniel Sturm See more
