24 inches of snow fell on the park last week! Some winter updates for you as you head out to enjoy the park: - The main park road will be plowed. - The lower parking lot by cabins 4 & 5 will be plowed and available for day use parking. - The Sunset Pavilion parking lot and restrooms are closed for the winter. -Andy's Trail is great for snowshoeing and cross country skiing!... - The cabins are available for rent year round. Check out the new Storybook Trail at Betty and Wilbur Davis! Start in the parking lot for the playground and the Sunset Pavilion. The trail is a short out and back, or hook up with the road for an easy loop.

NYS Free Fishing Weekend! This weekend is a free fishing weekend! During Free Fishing Days/Weekends, anyone can fish the fresh waters of New York State and no fishing license is required! All other freshwater fishing regulations still apply. https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/89821.html The ponds at Betty and Wilbur Davis are a great place to fish!

These week's challenge hike and bonus hike are both at our sister park, Glimmerglass! The drinking fountains are not available right now, so remember to bring lots of water!

**Cabin and camping update! We will begin accepting new camping reservations for all available sites (including tents, trailers, RVs and cabins) beginning June 8, for check-in beginning June 22. Campers are reminded to practice social distancing, bring and wear a face covering, respect the rules, and do their part to keep the campgrounds, parks and beaches open and safe for everyone. Camping capacity is limited, and visitors must make an advance reservation before arriving at a campground. Reservations are expected to fill quickly. Reservations can be made in advance by calling toll free 1-800-456-CAMP or http://newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com. Online reservations are encouraged.

Happy New Year! Start off 2020 outside and join us for a First Day Hike! The weather is predicted to be 30 degrees with snow flurries. We checked the trail today and saw variable conditions- some muddy spots and the occasional icy spot. After almost an inch of snow fell this evening the trail will be snow covered as well. See you in the morning!
