2/7/2021 TOA 08:49 Bethpage Fire Department was notified for a house fire at 40 Woodcrest road in the Hicksville section of the Bethpage Fire District. Pre-planned information stated possible hoarding conditions inside the occupancy. @bfdengine7 had a well placed line to knock down the fire in the kitchen. Ladder 3 and Rescue 3 conducted searches and overhauled the heavily cluttered fire room. In the midnight hours of 1/18/21 Run # 78 The Brothers and Sisters of Wantagh FD went to work in a 2 story private dwelling on 10 Helene st. Ladder 3 along with Engine 5 were requested to standby at Wantaghs Station 2. While enroute to their quarters, Ladder 3 heard command request an additional truck to the scene. Ladder 3 redirected their response and pulled up as the 3rd due truck. The crew was put to work on the second floor where they encountered fire in the attic. A line was immediately requested, and upon its arrival the attic was opened up for easy access by the hose line. Once the fire was extinguished Ladder 3 took a step outside. Every single run is an opportunity to learn and sharpen skills necessary for operating. About a week ago Ladder 3 practiced positioning after an automatic alarm at a group home near the edge of the Bethpage Fire District. The bucket and boom was placed to effectively access the 1 and 4 side of the home by backing the apparatus into the drive way.
