IMPORTANT UPDATES! Thanks goes out to Senator Schumer for writing to the United States Army Corps of Engineers to accelerate storm protection efforts for the Rockaway community. General Todd T. Semonite, has signed the Chief’s Report for the Hurricane Sandy Reformation Study. The next step will take place in Washington where the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, Ricky Dale James will meet with other USACE officials to review the plans for final approval. He has... ninety days to complete the process. It is our hope he will move quickly with the approval, hopefully before the seventh anniversary of Super Storm Sandy. October 8, 2019 Community Board 14’s sub committee for Parks and Public Safety Committee is having an open meeting at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 333 Beach 90 th Street, Rockaway Beach, NY at 7 pm. The first item on the agenda is: NYC Parks Dept. update of the Army Corp of Engineers Groin/Jetty Project. I am urging folks to come out and hear firsthand what is planned. It is important that our community push for the work to begin. The BHPOA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15 th at PS 114, 7PM. Please make every effort to attend our meeting. We plan to have update from our 100 Precinct, USACE, etc. We are inviting our elected officials to attend.

September 2, 2019 The Belle Harbor Property Owners Association denounces the recent mindless hate crimes that took place at the Silver Gull and on a beach in Belle Harbor. The Rockaway community is a respectful and a nurturing community.... Our values are grounded in respect for all! We support swift action from our local law enforcement authority in resolving this problem. If anyone has any information relating to these incidents they need to speak up. Hank Iori, President Belle Harbor Property Owners Association
