Well, it looks like our last weekend of the season is essentially a rainout so we will NOT BE OPEN today on Sunday, as everything is a bit underwater and needs to dry out. Thanks to everyone for all of your visits and support in 2021. We really appreciate your patronage. As a small, locally owned family business, we appreciate our customers and employees who have helped us to keep our doors open for our 17th year and even make some strides forward. CONTEST TIME! : With our RE-OPENING DAY upon us today (July 6) Somebunny suggested that we do our annual Ball Guessing Contest! So here goes! Guess the number of balls we found around the course during our spring clean up and win a $30 gift certificate to Big Don's. An Open Letter to Our Dear Customers- It is with a heavy heart and tremendous disappointment that we are temporarily shutting down and we feel that we owe our customers some insight into the rollercoaster we have been on over the last week. We opened last Saturday based on new guidelines provided on Friday by NY State for Sports and Recreation that listed minigolf in the low risk category alongside golf and other activities that were permitted to begin immediately. In or...der to confirm our understanding, we took the step of running that information by the Onondaga County Economic Development arm that makes these re-opening decisions locally. They read and understood the directives as we did, and confirmed by email that we had the green light to open back up. But, unbeknownst to us (and the Onondaga County officials who approved it), in a different document on the State website, Mini Golf was singled out and is not allowed to be open despite its categorization as low risk. Despite our being outdoors, despite the size of our course and the ability to safely spread people out, and despite all of the safety protocols that we have had in place to keep our staff and customers safe. The State said it’s because kids can run around and not social distance. Really? Do kids run around at mini golf places more than they run around everywhere else? Zoos and museums are opening this Friday. Kids don’t run around and touch things there? You all know all the other places that are open and are swarmed with people and to single out minigolf is beyond practical reason. The current guidance is that we will not be able to open until July 6 (unless they do to us what they just did to the malls, gyms and theatres and take that date away) but on that date we hope to open up most of our other activities including laser tag and soft serve. As a family owned and operated business, it is scary to think about the future right now, in that we only have a 180 day season to make our living and pay our bills, and only roughly half of that season will remain. We will continue to trust in God and the faithfulness of our loyal customers to keep us in business beyond this year. I hope when we can open up, that you come out and support us. Without your help, this business will no longer be able to be part of the community that we have loved and served for over 16 years. We may run a donation or gift card offer in the near future in which we will give you discounts or vouchers for helping us out now, if that is something you would consider we'd love to hear from you. ** Again, our apologies for this whole mess.
