Are you interested in Researching your English Ancestors? The National Institute for Genealogical Studies offers many courses, either individually or as part of... our English Records Certificate. Who were the "English"? Answer: It's complicated! Whether we are talking about the UK (United Kingdom), or GB (Great Britain), or a Commonwealth country, or perhaps a former colony, their roots go back to historical "England" and the records that were kept for them. The courses cover a vast array of topics as well as locations far more than physical England, all relating to our "English" ancestors and understanding how to trace them no matter where they were in the world. The time frame involved will determine where to look for the records needed. Check which courses will begin on May 4th and Register today! https://www.genealogicalstudies.com/eng/courses.asp

Do you have old disc film negatives that you would like to converted to digital? Contact me here and I can digitize them for you. Price depends on how many dpi you would like for each picture. i.e. 3200 dpi per disc $25 (approximate digital size is using 206KB) 12800 dpi (the highest quality I can do) $45 (approximate digital size is using 1.55MB) So if you ever choose to print them again, the higher the quality the better the image.... I can also do 35mm, medium format, and slides at this time. 110 may come to be in the near future. Other dpi’s I can do are as follows 50, 72, 96, 150, 200, 240, 266, 300, 350, 400, 600, 720, 800, 1200, 2400, 4800, 6400, 9600

Interesting news from upstate NY! Skeletal remains what may be Revolutionary War soldiers were uncovered during a construction project in Lake George, which wa...s immediately halted - state archaeologists are now investigating. Buttons found with the remains indicate they came from the uniform of a soldier who was part of the 1st Pennsylvania Battalion. Special thanks to Jane G. Haldeman for passing this story along to us!
