Bishop Grimes

Our Bishop Grimes Forensic Science classes recently finished timeline projects exploring the history of various contributors, techniques, and the criminal cases that were both influential and revolutionary in the field of forensics. The students not only got into the forensics spirit but that of Halloween as well. Additional work was done with a full crime scene, The Case of the Terrifying Twins, and a display of several pieces of evidence. A huge shout out to Ms. Doville...rs and all students who assisted in presenting the classwork including, but not limited to, artistic case display design (Devon DeSiro-Camber and Conner Frigon), timeline presentations (Alivia Duchano), evidence exhibits (Katherine Murphy, Natalie Musolino, and Madisen Troendle) and our crime scene storytellers and design-makers (Marin DiTullio, Deddeh Fasama, Anisa Holder, and Izzy Kinsey). Today, we honored some of our Seniors with the awards that they were originally supposed to have received on Grimes Day 2020 as Juniors. The awards that were presented today were from a number of colleges and universities who, despite the pandemic, provided their annual awards. Congratulations to these members of the Class of 2021 and to all those members of the Class of 2021 who have worked so hard to get to this point in their high school careers. Bishop Grimes is pleased to announce Cory Schad ’05 as our new Head Varsity Baseball Coach. Cory was hired this fall at Bishop Grimes as our Director of Communications and Alumni Relations. Before returning to BG, he was the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications & Marketing at Cazenovia College. As a student at BG, Cory participated in Soccer, Basketball, and Baseball. In 2005 he was named Class C Baseball Player of the Year. After graduating, Coach Schad attended a...nd played baseball at Mohawk Valley Community College (2005-2007) before finishing his college career at Cazenovia College (2007-2009). During his two seasons at Cazenovia College Schad hit .411 with 92 hits, 1 homerun, 9 doubles and 58 RBI. In 2008 he finished 9th nationally in batting average (.469). He also finished 2nd nationally in On Base Percentage (.565). Coach Schad was named to the 2008 ABCA All-Region Third Team. He also holds the following records at Cazenovia College: - 1st - Career On-Base Percentage (.506), 1st - Single Season On-Percentage (.569), 2nd Highest Career Batting Average (.411), 1st Career Putouts (500), 1st Career Double Plays Turned (27). Coach Schad has 8 years of college coaching experience; 4 years as Assistant Coach, 4 years as Head Coach at Cazenovia College.
