So proud of my students ....

Tips for SOAP: SOAP is like a GAMBLE. You got a total of 45 programs to apply. Where and in which round you apply is up to you. There is no correct answer. Keep your LOR and PS ready. Few tips: 1. Apply to programs based on your CV 2. Avoid university programs. They take their own medical students that don’t match. ... 3. Apply to community programs closer to your CV home address. 4.community programs that are less favorable or below average will give you a higher chance to match there. (Remember in the end it’s all about getting into the system. Better than going unmatched) 5. Apply to state’s with high IMG match rate rather than applying to states like California, Idaho, Oregon, Etc where the NON US IMG match rate is very less. Do your homework before hand. Don’t wait for tomorrow morning. 6. The program you interviewed went into SOAP? Apply again over there. There are chances they will call you for an interview. Also if possible, keep a friend informed about you needing help with SOAP. Your friend should do the following: 1. If you apply to both FM and IM programs and you need VISA and want to apply to programs that you got a better chance. Give your friend list of FM or IM. 2. Filter programs by searching on Frieda or resident explorer programs that sponsor and don’t sponsor visa. 3. Remove university programs and very competitive community programs from the list. 4. Now decide from the selected list where and in which round you want to apply. Stay calm if you don’t match. The game is never over. It’s over only if you give up. Keep fighting. YOU GOT THIS Good luck

If you want your clinical rotations to go smoothly, you need to understand what's expected of you beforehand! Make sure to ask your attendings what they expect you to know before you start, what you'll be learning throughout the rotation, and what you're expected to learn on your own while rotating.
