#HappyFlashbackFriday today we're taking a trip down memory lane, and stopping in High View to visit The Shawangunk Mountain House. This beautiful mountain house was built by L.P. Bennett to accommodate 100 guests. In Summer Homes of 1910, it was advertised as follows: "2,000 feet of piazza, 1,000 feet elevation overlooking 1,500 square miles of grand and varied scenery. Bath and all rooms lighted by acetylene gas." L.P. Bennett eventually sold the Shawangunk Mountain House... to William and Anna Hultslander who ran it until about 1920, when they sold it to Nathan Boris. It sadly burned to the ground in the 1960's.
