This week the SEG collected their R 1200 RS Police bikes and popped in to see us on their way home. The SEG (Special Escort Group) are an elite group of motorcy...cle Police who amongst other things, keep our VIPs and visiting dignitaries out of harms way. Having spent a day with the SEG many moons ago, I find it hard to believe there are better riders on the planet than these guys. Temecula PD has come up with a heck of a creative solution to help ensure our K9s arrive to the scene faster! This week K9 Dayka completed her motor officer tra...ining and we outfitted one of our bikes with a canine rack. Being on a motorcycle allows Dayka to travel more quickly through city traffic. In normal operation, this configuration allows Dayka to smell passing vehicles for hidden narcotics where she can alert her handler to their presence. In emergency operations, a release button has been installed that allows The K9 to be deployed from the motorcycle without the rider having to dismount! We are proud to introduce Temecula’s Motor K9! Everyone wave at her as she passes!
