I need your help. On May 23rd my students will present the 9th annual Students for Scholarship fundraising concert. All money is awarded to graduating seniors ...at five area schools each year.: Greenwich, Salem, Schuylerville, Argyle, and Cambridge. (See below for award description.) I need three things. 1. Donations. In the form of a check. Any amount is appreciated! 2. Items for our raffle. Can be a theme basket, e.g. garden basket; wine and cheese, or individual items, or gift certificates, or voucher for a service. Each hear individuals and small business owners have been very generous. 3. Empty baskets. If you have any old baskets lying around, we can use them to assemble theme baskets using donated items. If you can help, message me on Facebook or email me at [email protected]. Thank you! Bob The Students for Scholarship Award is given to a graduating senior who has demonstrated a love of music and who will be pursuing a degree in the musical arts. Although not a criteria, a focus on the creation of new musical composition is preferred. The award is made possible via the annual fundraiser by Bob Warren’s guitar students and the generosity of the community.

This Saturday, April 20th I look forward to singing in my home town. My friends Bob Wright, Rulyn Graves, and others have organized an evening at the Greenwich ...Elks which will be fun and raise money for the Greenwich Youth Center. Half of the members of the illustrious group Eastbound Jesus will be on hand to entertain the crowd with their infectious and finely crafted songs. As for me, my plan is to do what I always do. Sing about my life, my town, and any stray thoughts that may have entered my consciousness in the last 67 years. I don’t usually share my proposed set list with my audience ahead of time. Hell, I often don’t share it with myself. In this case I will make an exception and tell you that if you come and listen you will most certainly hear the following songs. The Silver Fox: About my dad. Includes geographical references to Greenwich and the Adirondacks. Dunbarton: The linen mill that migrated from Ireland and transformed this growing village. My Town: The title gives it away. I Hate the Color You Painted My Old House: Watch for a potential scuffle. Time Capsule: A new song propelled by the relentless strumming of an Am chord and fueled by memories dating back to 1970. The Deal I Made: Why I live where I do. The Battenkill: From Greenwich the Musical. And more....... (No, not the theme song from the Italian movie Mondo Cane (1962)) Come on out. Help a good cause and catch some tunes. Note: This is the first and only press release that I have ever written that does not use a single exclamation point.

I am happy to announce that Country Peddler is now selling my new CD, My Town! Although the subject matter varies, many of the songs and the underlying theme are about Greenwich. Truly, My Town could’ve been titled, Our Town.

New Album! "My Town" to be released at Caffe' Lena on Friday November 2nd and Saturday, November 3rd. Both evenings at 8pm. Get your tickets now at caffelena.or...g or (Friday show) https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3620455 (Saturday show) https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3622949 My Town was recorded at my home in what we call the Great Room. With 18 foot ceilings, white walls, and my 1923 Steinert baby grand, overlooking The Battenkill, it is the room that we often rehearse in and seemed like the natural place to record. If you listen closely you will hear a vocal or musical phrase bounce off a reflective surface and reach the microphone with a little something extra. That was my hope. We gathered on Saturday, May 5th, 2018 and spent the afternoon getting levels and preparing for the following day. On Sunday, May 6th we recorded, doing one or two takes of each song. We finished up with the title song. I am a lucky man. The people I play music with are my friends and they are very good at what they do.
