This week we want to introduce you to some of the projects we conducted in Afghanistan. In the play "Rahila's Bride" which was presented to thousands of girls and women across Afghanistan we addressed the issue of domestic violence and the importance of women supporting each other. Our Youtube channel gives a great insight into our work, start with this short video about "Rahila's Bride": https://buff.ly/3vKZZ7c

It's #Womxncrushwednesday and we feature @Anna Zastrow the BST ensemble member who conducted our project in Haiti and even learned some Kreyol. "It's been a short and sweet and intense journey for me" she says about her time in Haiti.

This week we will reintroduce our work in Haiti where we created a performance addressing gender-based violence. Together with FAVILEK a grassroots organization dedicated to women's rights, we worked with people displaced by the earthquake in 2010 living in tent camps where girls and women experienced increased vulnerability and insecurity. Our project empowered them to raise their voice and express their thoughts about violence and rape. Get some impressions in this short video:

Our #womxncrushwednesday for this week is Sharifah Husain, the Director of the Rohingya Women's Development Network. In 2017 Bond Street Theatre teamed up with this group of refugee women to devise a play, using theatre as a creative mouthpiece to share rights-based information. Other organizations involved were @Asylum Access Malaysia, @Masakini Theatre, and the Somali Refugee Organization - thank you for continuing to grow with us!
