Thanks @ggforeal for this sweet time-lapse of the team processing our 2020 Merlot the other day! The lugs (boxes grapes are hand-harvested into) are being emptied into the crusher destemmer and the empty lugs are being stacked in the trailer to put out into the vines for the Cab Franc we harvested the next day! . . #borghesevineyard #liwinecountry #liwines #northforkwinetrail

Post-harvest, pre-pruning. Even though the grapes have been harvested from the vine, the plant is still absorbing energy through its leaves. The sign of a healthy canopy shows here in these green leaves, meaning healthy vines for next year!

So far the 2020 harvest has been exceeding expectations for us! Our fruit is looking and tasting really great with nice acids and sugars, and Allissa is happy to bring it in to the cellar where rain and humidity can’t damage the clusters We harvested this Chardonnay past weekend, which leaves just Merlot and Cab Franc still hanging on the vine.
