Boston Valley Animal Hospital 21.10.2020

We are still open and caring for our patients. However, as of Monday March 23rd at 7:30 am, our building will be closed to all clients all communication must be done over the phone. Please remember that we are a small staff and are working as hard as we can to care for you and your pet. You will be given specific instructions over the phone as to how we will triage and see your pet. If you do not yet have an appointment and need to be seen or if you have an appointment for... Monday or Tuesday or later in the week, please call the office during normal business hours for further instructions. Until otherwise directed, clients and members of the public will *not* be allowed in the building. Please understand that this is to protect you and the staff. The area in between our 2 doors will be a transfer station for our patients as well as any papers, diagnostic samples, medications, food, ect. We will *not* be going to your car to pick up your pet we do not want the transfer of nervous animals to be in an unsecure location. We will give you specific instructions as to how we will retrieve your pet from the vestibule as well as how we will conduct our examinations and treatments and return your pet to you. We will conduct all communication over the phone with you before, during and after your pet’s visit. We will do whatever we can to ensure that you and your pet receive the same high quality care and attention that we have always provided.

We are presently still seeing patients as usual but we will post any changes to our clinic Facebook. However, we request that only one person come into the clinic with each pet. We want to minimize social contact and traffic within our building. If you are exhibiting any cold or flu-like symptoms, especially fever with or without a cough, please do not come to the clinic. If you have an appointment and come down with these symptoms, please give us a courtesy call to cancel or... find someone who is healthy to bring your pet in. We strongly urge everyone to make sure their pets are up to date on their vaccinations including the kennel cough vaccine. In the event that you are hospitalized and your pet needs to be boarded, most kennels do require dogs to be vaccinated against rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordetella (kennel cough). We recognize that regardless of what is happening with human public health, your pets are still family and will have ongoing health needs. We will strive to be here for your pets as much as we can.
