Good morning our favorite South Wales Community! We hope all of you are happy and healthy. Happy Halloween! We wanted to take a moment to remind all of you of s...ome fire safety tips. First don’t forget to turn you clocks back tonight. 1. Take some time today and make sure your smoke detectors are in working order. If they are not a 10 year sealed unit remember to change the battery. If they are a 10 year sealed unit make sure it’s not past the 10 years of the manufacture date. Smoke detectors for maximum safety coverage is recommended to have one per room of your house. 2. Also check your carbon monoxide detectors. If they are not a 10 year sealed unit remember to change the battery. If they are a 10 year sealed unit make sure it’s not past the 10 years of the manufacture date. Carbon monoxide detectors for maximum safety coverage is recommended to have one per floor of your residence. 3. It’s recommended to have fire extinguishers, one per floor of your residence in a common location in the event the only exit path is blocked. The acronym for using a fire extinguisher is PASS. Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep at the base of the fire. 4. Please have an emergency exit plan and meeting location out side the residence and practice this. If you are in need of assistance with any of these recommendations please contact us. We are more than willing to walk through the process or even stop over and talk with you about it. If any of your alarms are activated call 911. If you live in the South Wales Fire District and you have an emergency call 911, if you have a non-emergency situation call 716-652-1111. Lastly, WE NEED HELP! If you have ever thought about joining the volunteer fire service or even just have questions about it. We are in need of volunteer’s. Call and leave message, stop down on Thursday evenings after 1900 hours or shoot us a private message on here. Stay safe everyone!
