From IMPACCT Brooklyn: Apply for LISC NYC'S #SmallBusiness Relief & Recovery Fund! Last day to apply is Friday, November 6th at 11:59 pm Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) NYC's Small Business Relief & Recovery Fund will provide $10,000 direct grants to New York City minority-owned small businesses that face challenges to their survival in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Round 2 of applications closes at 11:59 pm on Friday, November 6th.... Eligible businesses must be: located in New York City; owned by a minority; have 20 or fewer employees; and have an annual revenue of less than $500,000. Priority is being given to small businesses located in designated low- to moderate-income neighborhoods. Grantees can use funds to meet expenses such as payroll, rent, overhead, marketing, upgrades to technology and infrastructure, employee training, and related costs. Eligible businesses are encouraged to apply by contacting one of LISC NYC partner community-based organizations (CBOs). LISC NYC has partnered with 16 CBOs to deliver these grants, plus technical assistance, to hard-hit small businesses. The CBOs will conduct outreach to small businesses, assess their eligibility, and help them prepare and submit applications for funding. Assistance will include guidance on compliance with new regulations and information about how to access legal assistance, additional financial resources, and training and mentorship opportunities. From U.S. Census Bureau: Based on responses collected September 30 through October 12, the Household Pulse Survey estimates that: 23.6% of American adults expect someone in their household to experience a loss in employment income in the next 4 weeks 36.9% of adults live in households where at least one adult substituted some or all in-person work for telework because of the coronavirus pandemic... 10.3% of American adults lived in households where there was either sometimes or often not enough to eat in the previous 7 days. 6.9% of adults are either not current on their rent or mortgage payment, or have slight or no confidence in making their next payment on time 31% report eviction or foreclosure in the next two months is either somewhat or very likely 32.2% of adults live in households where it has been somewhat or very difficult to pay usual household expenses during the coronavirus pandemic 81.8% of adults in households with post-secondary educational plans had those plans cancelled or changed significantly this fall More information: https://www.census.gov/pro/household-pulse-survey/data.html
