Just a wee note of appreciation and gratitude to all our bookworm supporters out there! We're closed for the season for Orson the Bookstore Cat to work on his scowl and for Louise to reunite with family but our bookworms are not far from our hearts and minds as we book hunt daily! It is the highlight of Louise's job to spy a book out there in the world and know who's bookshelf it belongs on - "oh that's for Karen (whom gifted us this beautiful vintage postcard), Scottie woul...d dig this memoir, I think this is right up Marcia's alley, that's a keeper for Bergen!" We'll reopen the store in May but in the mean time, feel free to message us with books /authors you are looking for. Our friends at @berkshirethrift in New Lebanon are having a huge "Name Your Price/ Make an Offer" sale this weekend to celebrate their re-opening and to make room for more inventory. We hope you will visit and support them - another local rural small business led be a fearless female! We will re-open in the Spring - Orson the Bookstore Cat has been acquiring a lot of great like-new books and Louise has been plotting a strategy to make 2021 Braveheart Books' year! Louise and Orson the Bookstore Cat aren't giving up on our dream but we are letting go for a while The bookstore will re-open eventually in 2021 - we've put a lot of work and heart into the past five years and are burned out by it and the disappointment of 2020. We won't be doing any book bundles, online orders, curbside pick-ups, but will resume those services and hopefully in-store shopping in the spring when we don't have to worry about paying to heat the store Please, please, please do not leave book donations on the porch - we know you are trying to support us but we just can't accept them at this time See you soon!
