My book is officially out TODAY! You can now get your copy on Amazon! Just click this link : https://tinyurl.com/yxw6z7od I can only hope that this will have a positive impact on each and every family who reads it. I hope that it shows you that we, as a community, can break through barriers, limits, and ideas that are either told to you by others or that have been engrained in society and systems today.... Most of all, I hope that it shows you that you aren't alone in this journey. Happy Reading!! Thank you for your support, it genuinely means so much to me. P.S - If you're reading this and maybe this book doesn't apply directly to you, but you'd still like to support it - you can donate it to your local library or a family you know could benefit! There are literally no words to express our gratitude to News 12 Long Island for featuring us on their "We're Open" Segment this weekend to highlight how we've been able to support our families during this crazy time. If you tuned in, thank you for your support! It was so incredible to see all of our families and community get just as excited as we were and made sure to watch. If you weren't able to, here you go! I’ve gotten countless texts, emails, and calls requesting... Chance’s autograph since he was clearly the star of the show Between him and our client, they were the ultimate DREAM TEAM to make sure that everyone smiled throughout the clip Our community absolutely ROCKS! Nothing will stop us from providing every ounce of support to all of you.this is just the beginning P.S. Chance autographs start MondayBring your favorite Chance pic

It’s SibSunday . This past week at Sibshops Young Adult, we reflected on what being a part of Sibshops means to us! ... . Sibs were asked to respond to the following prompts in an open letter format to other Sibs. What would they tell a new Sib about their experience? What would they want them to know about the potential impacts of the program on their life? Why are spaces like this so valuable? . Check out this beautiful response from one of our Sibs! . As we aim to make this an increasingly more meaningful and intentional space for our Sibs, we recognize the importance of growing this community. More Sibs means more support! . #Breakthroughptli #SibSunday See more

Wednesday Wisdom: Barefoot Edition Alright guys, let’s talk feet! The last few weeks we’ve discussed bracing options and all about their benefits, but let’s not forget that it is just as important to take off those braces to allow for strengthening opportunities! ... Did you know during normal walking, EACH FOOT bears more than 150% of body weight!!! In order to function appropriately - the foot must be the perfect balance of flexible & stable! The foot is required to be mobile enough to adapt to uneven terrain; however, it must be equally strong as it is essentially the FOUNDATION for our entire body! Back, hip and knee pain can often be related back to inefficiencies both UP & DOWN the chain - specifically, within the foot/ankle complex! Here are a few of our favorite tips/exercises to assist in foot/ankle strengthening! Walk BAREFOOT on sand, grass or other uneven surfaces! Too cold outside? Use blankets & pillows indoors to stand on or walk across! Push feet against parent/caregiver’s hands - Great for full lower extremity strengthening!! Towel crunches - this can be in standing, chair sitting or floor sitting to also challenge balance/core! Pick up tissues/socks with toes! (Or make a game out of cleaning up all of that fun tissue paper this holiday season) #physicaltherapy #pediatrics #pedipt #pediatricpt #pediatricphysicaltherapy #pediatricphysiotherapy #pediatricphysicaltherapist #dpt #dptstudent #orthotics #orthoticsandprosthetics #ortho #orthotic #surestep #intensive #intensivept #intensivephysicaltherapy #therasuit #therasuitmethod #intensivetherapy #hypotonia #tone #muscletone #muscle #cerebralpalsy #cp #cerebralpalsyawareness #foot #pronation #flatfeet

New Blog Alert A couple of weeks ago I asked you to participate in responding to one simple question...."What would you tell your Year-Ago-Self?" To the version of you who didn't know a pandemic was about to hit; To the person who is about to have not only routine ripped out from underneath them, but the entire way they lived their lives. So many of you gave absolutely incredible insight. I added my reflection in there, too. So, to everyone reading this that felt like givin...g up at some point this year; Wanted to scream, cry, or punch a hole in the wall at some point; This is your reminder that you've been knocked down before, yet you always get right back up. Having grace with yourself is sometimes the most important piece of the puzzle. You won't want to miss this post! Click below to read https://www.breakthroughptli.com/what-would-you-tell-your-y
