The Blacksmith’s team will be kicking it off at 5 and we recommend getting in early before I eat them all. The food will be prioritized for taproom customers! We’ve got the new artists up and this series is a special one for us!! All three of these artists have contributed immensely to our identity, our brand, and the character of the taproom. Tim worked with us for almost a year to develop the logo. Stevie does the magical design work for our can labels. And Michele brings our windows to life each season. One common factor amongst the three of these artists is that they rarely have much to go on, because we never know what we wan...t until we see it Each has played such a unique role in our evolution, we hope you enjoy the creativity and passion they’ve put into these pieces! *Please note - my subpar photography skills are not indicative of their work... Live music was meant to have such a presence in this space, so it’s been tough for us to limit it. So we had to get creative with our friends @familydinnerusa and do the only thing we can right now...dedicate a beer to them We had planned to have a night celebrating their music video release this week, but with Covid numbers rising, we had to pump the brakes a bit. They will still be slinging merch at the taproom tonight, we will be offering $3 off the You’re So Cool c...rowlers (*today only*) and we will all go watch their music video (seriously, go watch it) and anxiously await the release of their EP. Also, because of the recent spikes, starting this weekend we are introducing a few new tweaks to the taproom seating mostly, we will be limiting party sizes more strictly, with just a few spaces for groups larger than 6. Please work with us y’all we are doing our best to keep the taproom a safe and healthy space for the Long Beach community so our local businesses can continue to operate!

The girls came in today to hang their artwork while sippin’ the new sour. Each of them has very unique pieces but they vibe so well together on the wall. We are so excited to have these three on the brick for the next few months come take a peek and support!!

Alas, we can introduce BamBLUEzled 5.2% to the world! Our latest fruited kettle sour with oodles of blueberry and pomegranate purées. You guys just have to come taste for yourself, but we are quite smitten with her. We want to share our thanks to everybody who participated in helping us name this lovely libation!! We had so much fun reading all of yalls suggestions many names have already been taken by other breweries, some were too dang racy (looking at you @kfriedli55 @aabrunson89 ), and others just flat out stunk. Only kidding, we loved each and every one of them!!! But @craigsea94 came out with the W, so come get your celebratory crowler!

As promised, the second wave of our collaboration with @gentlebrewcoffee ! We got these kick ass beer steins from the talented @seinhaus__ to go with our Red Ale that used the Gentle Brew coffee beans. We’ll be selling the mugs at $30 bucks, but if you’d like to sit down in the taproom with it, they come with a complementary Ruffian Red that’s an impressive bang for your buck with this 20 oz. pour, so come sip! Super limited quantity, only available at the taproom!

Toasting Nick to the end of the weekend with our TWO new IPAs The first is a hazy Southern Hopspitality 7.2% - the name comes from the heavy use of Southern Hemisphere hops including Taiheke & Wai-iti hops. Tons of stone fruit & citrus goodness splashing through the drinking experience on this one. Then we went a little nuts with the doubles.. Make it a Double 8.3%. A double dry hopped, double IPA, our first double IPA on the board since opening weekend. This one has a similar grain base and aggressive dry hopping as Foam-O - but a west coast ale yeast cleared this one up and helped it finish high and dry. Proceed with caution with this big boy!

We wanted to give a quick shoutout to this first round of artists! We always wanted this to be a place of community, where we can showcase not only our own craft, but the crafts of other artisans as well. These three artists started our go at featuring different local artists! We’ll be changing it up soon, so don’t waste time getting in here and taking a peak! Nick is a Long Beach local who we have so enjoyed getting to know. His art is also on display @gentlebrewcoffee and h...e is often in the taproom, open to chatting with new friends The second is the @colorful_void_collection . Eric and his family were some of the nicest dang people we’ve met in the taproom, we have so appreciated being able to share a bit of him and his work! Then we have Samantha and John! Both the sweetest teachers, their skills go far beyond the paintings you’ll see here. We contacted Kyle not really knowing what would happen...We did know that we hate being in front of the camera, but we also knew that Kyle is crazy talented and a really kind Long Beach guy. So who better to introduce us to the community. We feel so blessed to have worked with Kyle and even more so to have been welcomed by our LB family. Double beer release today! The first is the Ruffian Red Ale with coffee 5.3% Caramel and toffee are balanced by the custom roast from our friends down the road @gentlebrewcoffee leading to a chocolatey, coffee-like finish. But there’s nothing Gentle about this brew ( sorry, had to do it)!... We were so excited to collaborate with our Park Ave. neighbors on this one. Soon to follow is another very special, supplementary release, so stay tuned in the coming weeks! Second is the More To It Cream Ale with lemon + lime 5.0% American Noble Hops give this clean beer a spicy, earthy flavor complemented by a small dose of Citra. We rounded it out with a delicate measure of zest from the king and queen of citrus, lemon and lime. Come get ‘em!!

Special Tushy Tuesday offering opening tonight for the Islanders game, 7:30 til game’s end + this summer release! This is your hoppy place. Sandy Tush Crushable IPA - this beer is hopped every which way with as many lbs per barrel as our big hazy IPAs. It packs the same fruity, tropical, aromatic punch, with a super clean, light finish and clocks in at just 4.8%. Less calories, but all the flavor you’d expect in a big IPA. Still plenty of summer left to crush a bunch of these with your tush in the sand.

Shark Smile Session IPA 4.6% Friendlier than the other sharks that have been making an appearance this week. We are trying to keep it light for ya in the heat of summer, with this easy sippin’ session. Nice and dry with tropical fruity notes from the Azacca Cryo dry hop. Small batch, so it won’t be here long - on the website and in the taproom

We’ve got our favorite sour back on tap! Y’all voted so the Sailor’s Delight Fruited Sour has returned in full force no small batches this time. Now on tap at the site and online for to-go purchases while it lasts! We open at 4pm today and while summer is here we’ll be staying open until 9pm each night.

Introducing our newest IPA - Billy SummerHaze - a hopped up juice bomb named in honor of our old buddy Billy. Billy was a musician, philosopher, plumber, and friend to all. We miss listening to deep cuts with him late at night & hearing his thoughts/observations on pretty much anything. We figured he’d get a chuckle out of us naming something that he never liked to drink after him. But we think you hop heads will love this one & hope to bring it back every summer. Hopped up dry with tons of El Dorado, Ekuanot, & Citra Cryo, this one is a fruit basket on the nose and a pleasure to drink. Pair this one with some Beatles or Van Morrison tunes for our friend Billy.

As you may have heard, our customers are now required to purchase a food item with the first purchase of an alcoholic beverage. We will have a strange assortment of small snacks available so that we can keep you guys drinking in the taproom! We still want everyone to be able to bring in their favorite grub from all of our neighbors, so feel free to continue that, but pretzels just have to be the appetizer now ... As always, masks are required at all times except when butt meets chair, at which point we can serve you beer...and chips. Beautiful serving board by @wohenterprises sadly not included. Cutthroat competition time We are bringing Foam-O back in a big way, this time in 16 oz. cans Lots of y’all were asking and we couldn’t wait any longer. ... As you can see from the can art, we were aiming to represent the picture perfect glass at the end of a beer-sippin’ session. Make sure your glass is super clean and you give it a nice strong pour to have a nice thick head of foam. Take your time sipping from the same side & try to get those nice clean lacing lines. Nice... We each tried our best to emulate this depiction (we used it as an excuse to drink all day). Some of us were clearly not the winners...while some of us couldn’t help but drink the whole glass In honor of this beauty, we are trying out a little friendly competition amongst all of y’all. Back open today!! We’re so excited to be able to open our doors today for a limited capacity indoors! Just a few things to keep in mind:... There are a certain amount of seats in the taproom to help us regulate the amount of people. That being said, your tush must have a seat to get a drink. It is still first come, first served, *no reservations* but we will be doing our best to help you guys find seats. We will continue with table service, so we will come to you. We cannot serve drinks over the bar. We will also continue with our outdoor seating because it was just stinkin’ enjoyable. Food get grubbin’, bring in whatever you like! But please be mindful of your servers and clean up after yourself! There will be plenty of trash cans in the taproom. Please continue to follow Covid guidelines no parties greater than 10 people, stick with your quarantine buddies, wear masks when walking around inside/tight spaces. A limited menu of to-go cans will still be available, both online and through the taproom. Unfortunately, after today, we will no longer be delivering online orders to @heneghanstavern We will keep them stocked with our beer though!! This is obviously a completely new (weird, funky, uncomf, bizarre) method of operation, so please keep in mind that we are figuring it all out with you guys! We want things back to a safe normal as soon as possible and we are hopeful that these restrictions will get us there. We just want y’all to come drink with us!

We’ve got lots of IPAs comin’ your way, but first and quite dear to our hearts is the Off The Dock IPA, 6.2% This tradish ole bish is based off of another one of our original homebrew recipes. Strata, Amarillo, Citra, and Cascade hops show off notes of dried apricots, tangerine rind, and just a needle of pine. Best enjoyed @teds_fishing_station for the true, fresh off the dock experience... But our taproom isn’t a bad option either ... Come get it now, in crowlers or on draft with a seat outside! Farming... is an essential part of brewing and we’re super grateful for the hard behind-the-scenes work our farmers put in to get us the agricultural ingredients we depend on. As we’ve started this brewing journey, we’ve been really lucky to have made friends & partners with a few awesome farms. We just wanted to highlight a few of them real quick. For the past few months, David and the crew @edgemerefarm have loaded up their pickup trucks with our spent grains to feed their chickens. They’ve got an awesome sustainable operation and weekend farmers market @edgemerefarmmarket in Far Rockaway - check them out! We’ve been lucky to be a part of the farmers market @xroadsfarmliny in Malverne every Saturday 9am-1pm. Crossroads also grows their own veggies and has an awesome farm stand open every Saturday during the market hours. Our buddy Ryan at @route27hopyard has provided us with some fresh Long Island grown hops & has used some of our spent grain as compost on his hop beds. Keep your eyes out for some of our beers showcasing Ryan’s hops (Flat Top Amber Lager!) We’re also really proud to be working directly with the crew at @royfarms_hops in Washington an amazing sustainable hop farm that’s been around for over 100 years. While not super local to us, they have been doing things right for a really long time & have some of the best hops on the planet! Sorry for the long post, we just love these guys! First off, we know we are just a goofy little brewery with little to do politically. But we’ve been struggling a lot with this one and the thought of staying silent in our community. Unfortunately, it has taken us this long to hear your voices and actively stand with the black community against this systemic issue. We stand for and with the peaceful protestors seeking to make a change and bring justice. We also pray for the safety of all protesters and police officers during... this time. All of us are white and each of us has close family that serves in law enforcement. While we know and love some of the best, we realize this isn’t about bad apples or good apples. Guys guys guys.. snap out of this mesmerizing video. After a six week cold slumber our Pilsner is finally ready to be crushed in the sun. A German lager strain leaves this one super clean and crispy with mild notes of spice, grapefruit and the perfectly appropriate level of bitterness that will leave you craving the next sip. We nailed this one at 5.10% ... pretty cool, huh? Straight from the brite tank to 16 oz. cans this morning get it fresh!

So.... we‘re bored. Don’t ask how many takes it took to get this mediocre shot From The Top Kolsch 5.4% The first time we brewed this one it didn’t turn out quiiite right. So we’re taking it from the top and boy did we deliver. Using a hearty German Ale strain we fermented this beer cold and continued to lager it for 4 weeks leaving a crisp, cracker-like finish true to the kolsch origins. Restrained floral and oak notes combined with its biscuity body make this one an abso...lute crusher ready for some warmer weather. To celebrate and show our appreciation, we’re back with our friends at @craftyourclosing to get a Beer + Bolt out to 3 more healthcare workers. We’re so excited that this beer is finally here! All Together is the worldwide collaborative movement brewed up by our friends (we wish! lol) @otherhalfnyc to support hospitality workers during the COVID-19 crisis. Working at @heneghanstavern introduced us to Bobby, Evan, and the @barrierbrewingco crew. We became good friends (they’re way too cool for us too, lol) over the years. We’re happy/excited/proud to let y’all know that we brewed our All Together beer today! This worldwide collaboration was put in place by Other Half Brewing to help support the hospitality industry during this difficult time. The three of us worked at our family’s restaurant in Point Lookout for years before Bright Eye. That experience in service opened many doors to opportunities and friendships with some amazing comrades who work their butts off in this industry. We can’t thank y’all enough for the support this past week!! We are so grateful that we get to keep our doors open for to-go sales. Well guys, not much else for us to do except keep brewing and offer up some crowlers! We have three beers that we’re planning to keg up this week and more in the weeks to come. Jelly Bean West Coast IPA, the actual last keg of Babe’s Stout, and our new fruited sour, Morning Sun, will be available in crowlers TODAY! Morning Sun is our latest, the same base as our Sailor’s Delight with two new fruit additions pretty pink guava and tarrrrt key lime. Mouth-puckering goodness.... We will be offering pick-up at both our taproom in Long Beach and at Heneghan’s Tavern in Point Lookout, today, March 17th (Happy St. Patrick’s Day!) 2:30-6:00pm. Credit card only.
