We're excited to spotlight another one of our kids that's missed out on a lot this year, especially as a senior. Jessica's favorite show - WNY Preview Classic i...s unfortunately not going to be a live event this year, but they're going to be offering a virtual show soon if you want to check that out! We're looking forward to hopefully seeing Jessica at some PA/East Coast shows this summer before she heads off to BHE in the fall. Meet Jessica! Your Name: Jessica Engel Age & Current Grade: 18, Senior State: NY Goal for 2020: to go to a live show Favorite Show: WNY Hog and Lamb Preview Classic What are you looking forward to the most when we have shows again? I’m looking forward to giving a friend a hug! Shows are all about reconnecting with friends and family while showcasing our livestock and I truly can’t wait to reconnect with these people. How has Covid-19/Coronavirus impacted you: As a senior in High School, COVID-19 has robbed me of many important milestones such as my graduation and prom. I may not also have my last year at county fair to say good bye to years of memories. Although this is sad COVID-19 has also given me the chance to become a leader in my community and reconnect with my family. As an officer in my FFA Chapter I’ve been pushed to think out of the box and continue to get other youth involved (virtually) in agriculture. As a family we own a local feed mill and in order to keep my grandparents safe and healthy my sister and I have helped out, working when we’re not tied down with homework. What is your favorite ‘homework’ aka at-home show preparation you like to do? My favorite ‘homework’ is getting my lamb up on the stand and training the leg wool! Random fact about you: I’ll be attending Black Hawk East in the fall! How do you help others learn more about agriculture? I help younger youth with their projects and give them showmanship tips.

Anyone looking for fresh pork to put in your freezer??? The last batch of pigs for the season is going to Falconer's for processing next Friday (day after thanksgiving). I have two full pigs still unspoken for. Will sell by the half or the whole. Each pig should yield right around 90-110+lbs of meat per half. Falconers will need your custom cutting order by WEDNESDAY of next week (day before thanksgiving). Please message Jason Engel for more details if you are interested. Dont wait until the last minute - they go fast. DID I MENTION BACON SLICED AS THICK AS YOU WANT IT? PORK LOIN, HAMS FOR EASTER AND CHRISTMAS? SOUP BONES? Pork...its whats for dinner! Thanks!
