DeBlasio has endorsed Passive House: In New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio’s policy to reduce city-wide carbon emissions 80% by 2050 in his plan One City: Built to Lasthas set the course for effective climate change mitigation and resilient adaptation. $750,000 grant to install a huge green roof and to transform a barren 3rd floor courtyard into an oasis. Inger Yancey of Brooklyn Greenroof LLC, and Thomas Gately of Green Power Solutions, together with grant writer Diane Stanley won this Green Infrastructure Grant from the NYC DEP in 2013. We are still waiting for the red tape to be cleared away and for the contract with the city to be signed by the hospital so that we can install this major piece of stormwater infrastructure into the Bronx River watershed.
