No matter the season, there’s always a special feel to Brooklyn Oak Dental Care. I believe that I’ve been given a very unique experience when it comes to my office and patients. One thing I love most about my office is that I get to treat people from all over the world, as #parkslope is such an international hub!! I will always be humbled when a patient chooses to have treatment with me. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be able to make a positive impact on someone’s life. It really was always my dream to be doing what I’m doing now, and I’m thankful to each patient who chooses me for treatment, so that I can continue living my dream. Thank you... thank you.... Thank you!
As your partner in health, I want to share my top five overall health tips. These may seem simple and trite, but they are all part of a long lost ancestral art that is easily neglected today. Drink water first thing before eating in the morning, and plenty throughout to stay hydrated. I personally love adding electrolytes to my water (try slices of fruit, lemon or celery) as they help me feel less bloated from all the fluid intake. Sleep *well* for at least 6 hours... a night. You should dream and feel rested when you wake up and throughout the day. Breathe with your lips sealedcalmly and invisibility through your noseduring wake and sleep. Eat as healthy as you can, mostly hearty vegetables, to get a range of nutrients and activate your oral and airway health. Exercise. Your body was designed to move and do amazing things. Some of those seem obvious, but most people don’t follow them! So if that's you, maybe today could be the day you work on the one you need to the most! Do you have other health tips you would like to share? DM me! See more
I just came across this short and sweet review a patient left for me and it just made my day. The patient stated that it feels like a real partner in health, and for me that’s the biggest compliment. The thing is, I have worked so hard to refine my craft and for my patients to feel this way about my treatment and appreciate the work I do means so much. A big thanks to all my patients continue to allow me to live out my dream as a dentist.
This morning I had a chance to enjoy snowy #prospectpark and reflect on life. Sometimes it may seem like you’re on a trail that has no ending. You keep going and going, you’re exhausted, burned out, and sometimes you’re not sure if it’s even going to be worth it when you reach your final destination. If there’s one thing I know it’s that you should trust your journey. Try to enjoy every minute of it. Because one day you will look back, and even though you remember the hard times, you will be thankful for them. You will be happy about them. You will see that they have shaped you into who you are today.
This case, like the one from last week, is near and dear to my heart. For so many of us dentist mommies in business, things really start to hit the fan when it comes to our own children and loved ones. Getting to the root cause of our own children’s oral and overall health becomes so important, and we sometimes have to turn over every rock to get the right answer. This patient had severe crowding and underdevelopment of the upper and lower jaws. Using appliance therapy, we were able to get her jaws to grow forward and make room for the teeth and airway. There are non-pharmaceutical an non-surgical solutions out thereand I’m so so happy to be able to have them in my tool belt. #optimalhealth #health #airwayhealth
