Something awesome this Christmas

Meet Zone Sergeant Jason Cawley of Troop C. On Thursday morning, Sgt. Cawley learned Tioga County had received a number of 911 calls for a driver who ran off t...he road and needed assistance, but had not been located. Sgt. Cawley drove to the section of State Route 17C in the town of Owego, but also did not find the driver. While patrolling, Z/Sgt Cawley saw what appeared to be a row of mailboxes and waded through the snow to check the addresses. While digging, he hit the windshield of a car and inside was the subject who had been making 911 calls. Stranded for more than 10 hours, with no heat due to a broken serpentine belt, the man was suffering from hypothermia and frostbite. He was removed from the vehicle and taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment. After speaking with the driver, Troopers learned he had been plowed in by a truck and his car covered with close to four feet of snow. The actions of Sergeant Cawley no doubt saved the driver’s life. The Town of Brownville fire trucks will be esc...orting Santa around the village of Dexter beginning at 1:30PM and following that with Brownville around 2:15-2:20PM. We will be traveling through all the side streets of Dexter including Grant Street, and going down Franklin Street, Brown BLVD, and Washington Street in Brownville. Please have your children on the sidewalks lined up to see Santa come through the villages! Please help us get the word out! See more

Santa Claus came to town (December 20 at 2:30PM)...

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Clayton Fire Department and the Solar family on the loss of Charlie Solar. Mr Solar was a 79 year member of the fire department and a well known individual in the community. RIP Charlie. We will take it from here.

At roughly 7 PM crews were dispatched to a full involved cottage fire on Three Mile Point Road. Cape Vincent, Chaumont, Town of Brownville, Three Mile Bay, and Depauville, were on scene with Clayton on standby. No one was hurt and everyone did a great job. Thank you to everyone.

The owner of the home at 19300 Evans Road, Dexter, called 911 and said they heard a bang before looking outside and seeing their barn was in flames, said Drew Heise, deputy chief of Brownville fire.
