On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom we all enjoy. We also thank those who have served and are currently serving in our armed forces.
To all those special women in our lives...
Today - National Nurses Day - is the kickoff of National Nurses Week which runs through May 12. It’s a week each year to honor the commitment, dedication, hard work and bravery of those in the nursing profession. This year, honoring our nurses is more important than ever as they are risking their lives on the front line every day, helping fight the coronavirus pandemic.... At the Buffalo Surgery Center, we're blessed to have an amazing group of nurses on our team. They provide our patients with outstanding care day in and day out. They truly are SUPERHEROES!
The bad news is that we lose an hour of sleep. But the good news is that spring is right around the corner!
From the Buffalo Surgery Center family to yours...
At this time of year, it's great to receive gifts, but it feels even better to give them. And that's exactly what the physicians at the Buffalo Surgery Center know very well. Through their generosity - giving of their time and resources, in conjunction with St. Martha's Parish Outreach - five WNY families will have a merrier Christmas this year!
In anticipation of what's arguably the biggest Bills game in 20 years, the BSC team got a head start on the pre-game prep with our own tailgate party on Friday - with everyone proudly wearing their Bills colors and enjoying plenty of great food throughout the day. Go Bills!
Gotta love Dr. Stoeckl, and the team at the Buffalo Surgery Center. Today they raised $300 cash plus food donations for St. Martha’s Food Pantry. The donations will be distributed to families in need this holiday season. How did they raise the money you ask? They literally worked (shook) their tails off for it. Patients & staff donated $1 for the chance to put a ping pong ball in one of the contestant's jars. The contents of those jars were put in their "tails." Whoever successully shook all the balls out first, was the winner. But in this case, the winners were those of us who got to watch this...and most importanly, the families whose holidays will be a little brighter now!
Earlier this week, in observance of Veterans Day, the Excelsior and Buffalo Surgery Center teams were honored to assemble "care packages" for our veterans. Aside from a variety of useful (and some fun) items, each package included a handwritten note from a member of our team, expressing our gratitude for each vet's service and sacrifice for all of us. We thank all the members of our teams who participated. ... And most importantly, we thank all our amazing veterans!
Friends don’t let friends fight cancer alone! Our Patient Care Assistant, Thomas Pawlowski, dyed his hair pink to show support this month!
To help raise money and awareness for the WNY Breast Cancer Support Network the Buffalo Surgery Center will be participating in "Rake in a Cure" during the month of October. Raffle tickets and Breast Cancer Awareness bracelets can be purchased at the reception desk for $1 each and are available to both employees and patients.
