Reptar is a mali uromastyx, or spiny-tailed lizard. This species of lizard comes from the desert and they get all the water they need from the plants they eat. They can also change color based on their body temperature; darker scales indicate they're cooler than normal (black attracts sunlight) and turn a brighter orange-red color when they are warm. Can you tell from the picture how Reptar is feeling? #buffaloanimaladventures
Honey bees are nature's essential workers! 1/3 of the food we eat depend on pollination from honey bees and other pollinators to grow! To help bees, refrain from using pesticides in your garden or lawn, plant bee friendly plants, and purchase raw honey from a local beekeeper. Bee-utiful!
The perfect garden tomato! Tomato frog, that is. This is BLT! Tomato frogs are only found in the rainforests on the island of Madagascar. They are a burrowing species, so we were glad we got this shot of her looking so happy! Thanks to Wildlife Associate, Gabby for the great picture!
Julian is loving his leafy greens from @mccollumorchards! Ring- tailed lemurs are leaf eating primates but also enjoy fruit, vegetables, and bark in the wild! Thank you again @mccollumorchards and @wildergreensny!
