You’re choosing misery Not even the best advice can help to pull you from the depths of your own despair. The thing is you’ve likely already been given the ladder to get out of the hole you’re in; you just don’t want to climb.... Trust me, I get it. It sucks and sometimes all we can do is feel sorry for ourselves. So we remain inactive until we look in the mirror and despise the person we’ve become, because sometimes it takes getting to that point to initiate change. Yes I’m saying that for many it takes experiencing the lowest of lows in order to start climbing out. That which we want to do the least is likely what we need the most. #burchfitness #healthiswealth

Do you desire to have the desire? My grandfather-in-law emailed me recently and asked me to read a passage about desire. It spoke on how many people don’t have the desire to do something BUT they want to have the desire to do it. Sounds strange but you probably get the picture.... I don’t want to be healthy and fit but I wish I did. Sound familiar? You see many people understand the importance of eating healthy and exercising; its irrefutable. BUT they also understand that it’s not always easy and therein lies the problem; distancing ones self from the process but staying connected to the thought. If this is you, desiring to be a person who engages in healthy behavior, you’re not as far from action as you may think. It may take a symbolizing event, a challenge, or a loved one to turn thought into process. Desire to be the kind of person that would want it and then figure out how to become that person. It’s an open invitation to yourself.

Stop sabotaging yourself You’re trying to lose some weight so you go for a run and your latest device tells you that you burned 200 calories. Later that day someone offers you a 200 calorie donut.... - Your thoughts: I earned this donut with my run earlier so therefore I will have it. - Reality: You didn’t burn 200 calories on your run as most devices overestimate the amount of calories burned through exercise. Eating back the calories you burn through exercise will lead to almost no fat loss Since your exercise calories were overestimated you actually ate back MORE calories than you burned resulting in weight gain It sucks. It’s not fair. I agree with you. - Unfortunately it is reality and with most things in life you can acknowledge it and correct or ignore it and continue to fail. #burchfitness #healthiswealth

The ‘I Don’t Have’ myth What is it that you don’t HAVE that you feel you NEED to get after your health and fitness goals? - Time... Money Knowledge Metabolism Patience Mindset There’s nothing you NEED besides the desire to start. The rest can either be earned, learned, or is a lie you are telling yourself. Look in the mirror and ask yourself why this one silly thing you don’t HAVE is stopping you from changing your life. You’ll eventually look back and laugh at the fact you almost let the smallest excuse stop you from achieving the life you desired. #burchfitness #healthiswealth

30 going on .... Today I turned 30. To be honest I don’t feel at all different from how I felt yesterday, when I was 29. The reason is that our birth age doesn’t really make a difference. What truly matters is how our body and mind are aging (biological age) through inherent use or lack thereof.... - A 60 year old who exercises their mind and body and prioritizes their health doesn’t consider themselves as old or nearing the end of their years A 30 year old who continuously abuses both their mind and body may actually have a biological age much older than their birth age. They likely appear much older than they actually are as well. If you truly want to be younger, to turn back the biological clock, the only way to do so is through self-care. - Exercise at least 3x/week Only eat the calories you require and consume high volume, nutrient dense foods Challenge your mind with new tasks - Be honest with yourself. If you feel older than your birth age it’s likely because you are. #burchfitness #healthiswealth
