Here is our Jersey baby!
A little excitement this evening...meet Pearl! We also had a Jersey heifer born too, but I didn’t get a picture of that baby tonight! Tomorrow I will though!
In a time of all the craziness it was nice to take lunch to our hardworking men and realize while our society seems so out of sorts the farmers keep tending to our Mother Earth and making food for animals and people! Despite everything, including the low prices they’ve seen in the past years, including now, they keep on working day and night and most still smile! Thank and appreciate a farmer today!
In the future when people ask our kids how they survived the COVID-19 they will say it didn’t really effect them because we were farmers. Just another day on the farm! One huge tadpole and doing chores. Our daughter enjoyed her ride back from doing chores! This is the life for sure!
This is how I start and finish my day now! I am not going to lie, I miss my students, but this is my savior right now! Being around these cows and providing milk for others is our way of feeling essential! It also bring a calming effect on me too! For the time I am in the barn I can escape all the nonsense that is going on right now and be able to focus on something so positive. Each of these ladies has a special personality that brings a smile to my face, even the one who accidentally kicked me the other day! Enjoy the little things!
Our new babies! We were in for a surprise when we realized that they were both born on the same day! Exciting times on the farm!
This is how you put on gloves before we milk! This kid has a modeling career ahead of him!
Our helpers on the farm! Soon Fred and I will be able to leave them in charge!
Lessons on the farm, some lessons are better on the farm! Now, more then ever, learn to enjoy the small things!
Nothing to see here, except a boy taking one of his chickens on a tour around the farm to meet the other animals! Oh let the adventures of being home the farm begin!
What a great way to start March? Welcome to the world Just Rosy and Just Ruby! Mama gave us twins last year too, but these are her first red and white babies! So exciting!
They look so warm and cozy!
This is God’s country!
