National Pit Bull Awareness Day was established as a day to educate and foster positive experiences in the communities. It is a special day to focus on these incredible dogs and their devoted, responsible owners; a day to change perceptions and stereotypes. So if you have a loving Pitbull, show them off and leave a picture of them in the comments!

Introducing our two newest staff members, Cayla and Victoria! They are joining us as Animal Care Givers, so be on the lookout for their bright and smiling faces ready to help your pet!

We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets

Today is Global Cat Day, a special occasion devoted to unowned, free-roaming community cats. These cats often get a bad rap but it’s important to understand that these cats aren’t so different from our beloved pets. As a matter of fact, many are living on the streets as a result of being abandoned by their families. We've included some tips to help manage and care for the community cats in your neighborhood. Helping these cats starts by being a responsible guardian! National Feral Cat Day is here to remind us of our love of furry little feline friends and how every stray cat has within them a loving cuddle-able furball looking for a forever home!

Today we’re spotlighting assistant Amanda! Amanda is an Approved Veterinary Assistant and has been at Burrstone for 7 years. At home, she has a dog Harley and a cat Harlow. Outside of work, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends as much as possible. She also loves her hobbies including woodworking projects, photography, and baking. We thank her today and everyday for all she does!

Today we’re going to spotlight our assistant Kim! Kim is an Approved Veterinary Assistant/Inventory Specialist and has been at Burrstone for 20 years. She’s also certified in therapeutic laser therapy and enjoys using the laser to help pets heal and have a quicker recovery. At home, she has three cats Bullett, Bandit, and Buddie. We thank Kim today and everyday for all she does!

We currently are being affected by the area wide power outage. So we have no phones or power currently at the office. If you are having an emergency please come right down. If you have a regular appointment with us this morning we are still trying to see what we can. Otherwise we are expected to have power back by 11am. Thank you for your understanding.

Today we’re spotlighting technician Meredith! Meredith has been a technician at Burrstone for 5 years. At home, she has a beautiful Pitbull named Ruby. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, reading, learning to cook, and spending time with her loved ones. We thank her today and everyday for all she does!

Today we’re going to spotlight technician Dawn! Dawn has been a technician at Burrstone for over 20 years. At home, she has three crazy kitties Butterscotch, Daisy, and Lily. Outside of work, she enjoys being at home with her cats and relaxing. We thank her today and everyday for what she does!

Today let’s spotlight technician Kathy! Kathy is our Lead Technician and has been with Burrstone for 19 years. At home she has a 13 year old cocker spaniel named Fairlane. Outside of work, she loves watching her football team the Chiefs play and being outdoors with her husband. We thank you Kathy for what you do everyday!
