Butterfly Counseling Services is pleased to announce that Hilary Slevin is joining the practice! Hilary is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of New York. A graduate of NYU’s Silver School of Social Work, she focused primarily on clinical therapy and received formal training in a wide variety of therapeutic approaches. Born and raised in NYC, Hilary worked as an elementary school teacher before beginning her career as a therapist. Throughout her time as a social w...orker, Hilary has counseled clients of all ages enduring a vast array of challenges, including anxiety, depression, identity development, life transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem, and trauma. She provides therapy to individuals and couples, always operating from a supportive and strengths-based approach that encourages her clients to be active participants in their own treatment. I am so excited to have her join the team!

Butterfly Counseling Services is very pleased to announce that Mariemi Garcia is joining the practice! Mariemi is a licensed Bilingual Social Worker in New York State. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Mariemi has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University with a concentration on Children and Families. She has over 15 years of experience in providing support to children, adolescents, and adults across a variety of settings. She has worked with minority populations in underserved communities throughout her entire career. It is her passion to serve those who are least heard and to help them gain their voice. I am so excited to have her on board especially at a time in which the number of people seeking mental health services has increased dramatically. She will be a great addition to the team.

Butterfly Counseling Services, LCSW, P.C. is offering a group for teens struggling to deal with the pandemic. The group will be led by Tavleen Kaur, MSW, LMSW who has extensive experience running groups for teens.

Butterfly Counseling Services is pleased to announce that Peju Oyeyemi is joining the practice. Peju is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of New York and a graduate of the Boston College School of Social Work's Global Practice Program. She has cultural roots in West Africa and the Caribbean. Peju has worked with a variety of populations including children and families, immigrants and refugees, and victims of crime. Throughout her career, she has specialized in treating survivors of interpersonal and family violence, sexual assault, homicide, racial trauma, and early attachment trauma.
