Luke 9 Jesus empowers His disciples and sends them out to preach, heal and deliver. As we read further in this chapter, Jesus speaks about the "Cost of Discipleship!" Luke 9 presents an interesting encounter between Jesus and 3 supposed "followers;" it is a challenge we still see in the 21st century. Read Luke 9:57-62. The call to follow Christ is marked by a call to "commitment." Luke 9:23, "Then He said to them all, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny him...self, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me." Yet, the 21st century church is marked by a call to "Involvement!!" There is a difference between commitment and involvement. Involvement involves an attitude of "getting" or "receiving" as long as we're "getting" something, we'll be involved!......when we stop "getting," we drop the activity or go somewhere else where we can "get" what we want. Jesus never called anyone to an involvement with Him......Jesus does not ask for .....He requires "COMMITMENT!" Take time in prayer today and spend time in His presence. Allow the Lord to speak to your heart, so that you will respond with full commitment to do what you say you will do for the Lord today. See more

Exod 33:11 Moses spent time in the presence of God. We too must spend quiet intimate time with God. Study the Bible, for it is the specific Revelation of God to mankind. Then, Pray Often......we must follow Jesus' example. What makes us believe we don't need to pray and still expect to see the Glory of God in our lives? Spend quality time in the presence of God!! Moses did just that! So pray often and spend time in His presence. At the end of his life, this is who Mo...ses was.......read Deut 34:10-12. TRUSTING and BELIEVING are NOT the same! TRUST is developed on a foundation of familiarity; knowledge and intimacy. It is developed and deepened by knowing the Person or circumstances being TRUSTED. Take time in prayer today, and pray this prayer........that you may hunger and thirst for God's presence, that nothing will be more important to you than to KNOW GOD.......to KNOW His Will and His Ways! How do we get to TRUST the Lord.......how do we go from BELIEVING God to TRUSTING God? Moses BELIEVED God when he had an encounter with God at the Burning Bush.......BUT Moses DID NOT TRUST GOD! Read Exod 3:11; Exod 3:13; Exod 4:1; Exod 4:10; Exod 4:13. Moses went from BELIEVING God to TRUSTING God, when the challenges came. Read Exod 14:13-14; Exod 14:15-18. Intimacy with God will help us know Him! We can not expect to TRUST someone we don't know. As such, in order to go from BELIEVING God to TRUSTING God, we MUST spend and invest time in knowing Him! Moses spent time in the presence of God! Take time in prayer today and spend quiet time before Him. Quiet intimate time with the Lord. Allow Him to speak to your heart. Thank Him for His love, grace and mercy.

A Disciple of Jesus Christ TRUSTS in the Lord! You can not live the life God has for you, if you do not TRUST God! Read Psalm 28:7; Psalm 62:8; Psalm 20:7; Isaiah 26:4; Psalm 56:3; Psalm 32:10; Prov 3:5-6 and Prov 29:25. Take time in prayer today as you read each of these Scriptures. TRUST God! Wait on Him in prayer and allow Him to speak to your heart, then TRUST that He will bring the victory!
