By order of DPW Superintendent Matt Toleman: PLEASE keep children away from the snow piles back by the DPW shed on Memorial Drive. The snow is very heavy, di...rty, and hazardous. We wish to avoid any harm coming to anyone - a fatal tragedy that took place in Greenwich a couple of years back is still fresh in our minds. The "Keep Out" signs are not a decoration! See more

Portions of the Business District in the Village on State Route 29 and State Route 372 will be closed for snow removal starting this afternoon, Tuesday 12/22 fr...om 3pm-Midnight and resuming tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday 12/23 from 3pm-Midnight. Please be patient as our DPW crew works to keep us all safe by clearing our streets.

Our first major snow storm of the year is approaching. Local ordinances require you to use off street parking for at least 36 hours when there is snow fall expected to be more than an inch. Please keep your vehicles off the streets so our DPW's can effectively remove the snow. More information can be found on Village websites. Thank you!

Toys were delivered to the schools earlier this week for Operation Santa; from there they will be wrapped and distributed to local families in need. Our Department again would like to thank everyone that donated, all the businesses that supported our cause and The Eagle News Paper for their generous donation.

Just a few notes: First, we hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday this past week and weekend. Second, this is the last week of the toy drive. If you want to donate there are boxes still out at the local businesses previously mentioned in post below. You can also drop off at village offices and police stations as well. Lastly, there has been a healthy fox spotted in the area of South Park Street in the village of Cambridge hunting. If you have any small pets or chickens outside please keep an eye on them.

It is that time of year again for our annual Toy Drive; our boxes are out at local businesses "currently Walgreens, Ace Hardware, Dollar General, Tractor Supply, BigLots" with more locations to come. The toys collected are given to the Operation Santa program at the local schools. Operation Santa then distributes the gifts to local families in need. Toys collected must be new and unwrapped and can range from ages infant-18 years of age. The boxes will be out until December 5th, donations can also be dropped off at village offices and PD. Thank you all again for your generosity and helping make a child’s holiday season bright.
