Camden Village Police Department 16.02.2021

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on December 11, 2020 at about 12:00pm , Sheriff Deputies along with the New York State Police responded to an ...address on Rt. 13 in the Town of Camden for a reported physical domestic. Investigation into the domestic revealed that a juvenile, age 16, had threatened the victim, Steven Allen, age 21 of Camden with a Knife. On scene, the juvenile was issued an appearance ticket for Menacing in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor. The juvenile is to appear at Juvenile Probation at a later date and time. While conducting the investigation into the domestic, the juvenile’s mother, Laurie Bryson, age 44 of Camden, pushed the investigating Deputy and physically obstructed in the investigation. Bryson was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Camden Field Office. Bryson was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor and Harassment in the second degree, a violation. Due to New York State Bail Reform Laws, Bryson was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Camden Court at a late date and time and was then released. The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police.

Acting Superintendent Kevin P. Bruen is saddened to announce the line of duty death of Trooper Jennifer M. Czarnecki. Trooper Czarnecki died on December 5, 202...0, from an illness stemming from her assignment to the World Trade Center site following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Following the events of 9/11, Trooper Czarnecki was assigned to aid with the search and recovery efforts in New York City as part of the New York State Police Detail. Trooper Czarnecki entered into retirement from the New York State Police on November 3, 2020, because of her worsening illness. During her 20 years of service, Trooper Czarnecki was assigned to Troops A and D. Trooper Czarnecki served in Troop A since 2003 and was last stationed at SP Boston. Trooper Czarnecki is survived by her husband, mother and brother.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Camden man was arrested on July 29th, 2020, after he was involved in a physical domestic dispute, which occu...rred in the Town of Vienna. Jason Vincent, 40, of Camden, was charged with one felony, being Criminal Contempt 1st, one misdemeanor, being Menacing in the 2nd degree and one violation, being Harassment in the 2nd degree. Vincent was arrested and transported to Oneida County Jail, for pre-arraignment detention, awaiting centralized arraignment. See more

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Camden man was arrested again and charged with a second vehicle arson that occurred in the Village of Camden.... Taylor B. Sharron, age 24, was arrested and charged with arson after a 1997 GMC Safari Van was set on fire while parked in the public parking lot located at 50 Main Street in the Village of Camden on July 22, 2020 in the early morning hours. After the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office investigation it was determined that the vehicle was intentionally damaged by fire. Sharron is charged with one count of Arson in the 3rd degree, a class C felony, for destroying the vehicle by fire. Sharron is currently in the Custody of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office awaiting the arraignment at CAP Court on this charge. Sharron was arraigned on another Arson charge on July 23, 2020, after being arraigned on that charge he was Released on his Own Recognizance at approximately 11:30AM, and is set to appear in Court at a later date. The sheriff’s office is also currently investigating several other vehicle fires that were found to have occurred in the Village of Camden in the early morning hours of July 22, 2020. The Camden Village Police Department would like to remind our residents to lock your vehicles, your homes, your garages and any out buildings you may have. As you are probably aware, there has been a lot of criminal activity in our area, particularly in the early morning hours. Please stay vigilant and if you notice anything suspicious, immediately call the station at 315-245-1222 or 911. The Camden Village Police Department will have extra patrols on duty and will be working closely with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office as well as the New York State Police. These criminal activities includes burglary, arson and larceny.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Camden man was arrested on a charge of Arson after an investigation into a vehicle fire in the Village of Ca...mden on July 23,2020. Taylor B. Sharron, age 24, was arrested after a vehicle fire was reported in the public parking lot behind Main St. in Camden. Sharron was located at his residence a short time later and was taken into custody. He was charged with one count of Arson in the 3rd degree, a class C felony and held at the Oneida County Jail pending arraignment. The sheriff’s office is also currently investigating several other vehicle fires that were found to have occurred in the Village of Camden in the early morning hours of July 22, 2020. According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office responded to 50 Main Street in the Village of Camden to assist Camden Polic...e Department and Camden Fire Department with a suspicious vehicle fire. On July 22, 2020 at about 0245 hrs., the Camden Fire Department and Camden Police Department responded to a vehicle fire in the parking lot behind 50 Main Street. The vehicle, a 1997 GMC Safari van was fully involved and no one was with the vehicle. After the fire was extinguished, Camden F.D. conducted an initial investigation into the fire and determined that it was suspicious. An Officer from the Camden Police Department contacted the 911 Center and requested assistance from the Sheriff’s Office with investigating the fire. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division and an Investigator from the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Identification Unit responded to the scene. While on scene of the van fire, a female arrived on scene and advised that she was the person who parked the van in the parking lot. The female explained that she borrowed the van from a friend and that she had no issues with the van and did not know how the fire started. An initial investigation into the fire could not determine a cause on scene, so the vehicle was towed to the Sheriff’s Office impound lot for further investigation. According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on June 21, 2020 at around 6:53 P.M., Road Patrol Deputies responded to the area of River Road in the Town of ...Camden for a Fatal Motorcycle Accident. Though the accident is still being investigated and reconstructed by the Oneida County Forensics Unit at this time, it was discovered that Ronald Secor, 65, of Rome, was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle in a northerly direction on River Road when at some point he collided with Steven Mahana, 55, of Clay, who was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle southerly on River Road in tandem with Mary Akshar, 57, of Fayetteville, who was operating a separate Harley Davidson motorcycle. Upon the fire department’s arrival, it was apparent that Secor was deceased on scene. Mahana was air lifted by Mercy Flight to a Syracuse Area Hospital with life threatening injuries. Akshar was treated and released on scene by EMS. The cause of the accident has yet to be determined and no traffic citations have been issued at this time. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Camden Fire Department, Camden Ambulance, and Mercy Flight.
