There have been multiple manufacturer and shipping delays; additionally, the storm this week will further delay arrival of foods and medications. Our distributers tell us that orders received after 10 AM on Monday, 21 December, may not be received by before Christmas. Apparently it is time for us to discuss standards of care again. Chronic medications require us to monitor patient condition and laboratory values; to dispense such without doing so is considered to be below the accepted standard of care. While we sympathize with those having difficulties with bringing their pet in for a visit during these times, it does not preclude us from our obligation to uphold the accepted standard of care. Maligning us on Facebook, Yelp, etcetera will not result in our abandonment of that which is expected of us by our professional associations and licensing bodies; we are no different than you own physicians in this regard. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to keep your pet healthy.
