Let's talk about lug nuts! These lug nuts have a chrome cap for aesthetics. Unfortunately over time, exposure to the elements, and pressure from impact when removing, the caps can break. They usually stay in place, but once cracked they allow moisture and salt in, causing corrosion and the inability to remove the lug nut! They are quite costly to replace with so many on one tire. Here you can see only 2 of the 5 lug nut caps are still in good shape. If you notice any c...aps are starting to corrode, you can change them as you go so you don't have to replace them all at once. That should help the wallet! There is still a fitting underneath the cap that allows us to get the lug nut off, but the more corrosion under the cap, the harder it is!
