In honor of Women’s Appreciation Month we are highlighting one of our female chefs here at Canisius College: Chef Andrea Gordon. Andrea is originally from Kingston, Jamaica and came to the United States in 1996. She is in her 14th year with Chartwells Higher Ed. She originally started here at Canisius by promising to cover for another staff member and has now made it all the way to Sous Chef. She worked at Menworx (when it was Menutainment) and really enjoyed the interactions... she’d have with the students and faculty. Her passion for cooking comes from her love for creativity and trying different flavors. Her favorite thing to make is grilled Jerk Lamb. She loves cooking on her grill for her neighborhood, which she attributes to something she learned from her grandmother. If she had the chance to open her own restaurant she would call it Drea’s Caribbean Soul. When asked if she had anything she wanted everyone to know she said, that I’m awesome and a great chef. Today at Canisius College is Mental Health Awareness Day. We served a yummy BBQ pulled pork as well as a yogurt parfait with dark chocolate and cinnamon-all anxiety reducing ingredients. Success!

Today is Mental Health Awareness day at Canisius. We served a fun pulled pork slider and also offered a yogurt parfait with dark chocolate, granola and cinnamon-all anxiety reducing ingredients! Success!!

Superfood of the month is tomatoes!!! We have offered tomatoes at various concepts this month and today it was one of the key ingredients of our Tomato and Garlic White Pizza at 500!!!
